Saturn is the planet of responsibility, maturity, and reality. Saturn is not fun and play, romance and romps in the hay. Saturn takes everything seriously, especially commitment. Saturn is the late bloomer, so it may not commit early in life. But once Saturn commits, Saturn is in it for life, and does not take that responsibility lightly. When you have a Saturn connection with someone in synastry, this can be tricky. On the one hand, this can show that you take the relationship seriously and can commit more easily to one another. We'll have a full moon on August 15th in air sign Aquarius, and this full moon may have us focused on the future and what we hope for. August's new moon comes on the 30th in earthy Virgo. Virgo likes to get things done, get organized, and get practical, and that's energy we'll likely need desperately after this midyear wonkiness! With all of the wonky energy swirling, I wanted to focus on a positive position in this article, so here we are: Progressed Jupiter. Jupiter doesn't get a lot of attention in the progressed chart because Jupiter doesn't move very fast. Jupiter spends about one year in a sign or house, so progressed Jupiter doesn't move too much from the natal position. For most of us, Jupiter will remain in the same sign and house; but for some people, progressed Jupiter will change If you were born with Jupiter at the end of a sign (say 20-something degrees), and Jupiter moves forward, it may move into a new sign in your life. If you were born with Jupiter early in a sign (say under 10 degrees), and it turns retrograde early, it may move back to the previous sign in your life. If you were born with Jupiter under 10 degrees from a house cusp, Jupiter may move forward into a new house (if Jupiter is in the previous house); if Jupiter is in a house and under 10 degrees from the cusp, it may move backward into the previous house (if turning retrograde). A progressed chart is created by adding one day to your date of birth for every year you've been alive to create a new chart that reflects your maturation and growth into adulthood. We all change with age, and the progressed chart reflects that. What the planet Jupiter represents in astrology
Jupiter is the planet of expansion, at its core. Jupiter wants to expand whatever it touches. Jupiter is the happy planet, and wants everything that's expanding to be positive, but that largely depends on other aspects and what you choose to do with the energy. In your natal chart, the sign and house position of your natal Jupiter can show where you expand, have opportunities, and generally want to see the positives.
When your progressed Jupiter moves into a new sign or house, this can show a shifting in expansive energy, and you may start unraveling more opportunities for new experiences and growth in your life. If Jupiter is moving forward into a new sign, when at the very end of the sign it's leaving, it'll be at 29 degrees. This is the anaretic degree, a point of extreme energy in the progressed chart, and for that period when progressed Jupiter is at 29 degrees, you may feel super motivated to take action and pursue opportunities right away before you feel you lose the chance (meaning before Jupiter changes signs). If Jupiter is moving backward (retrograde) into a new sign, when it very first enters that new sign, it'll be at 29 degrees. This can bring that intense energy to pursue opportunities right off of the bat, but it'll be focused on the new sign instead of the old one (likely the original natal sign). When your progressed Jupiter moves into a new house, this can put Jupiter conjunct (aligned with) the house cusp for some time (years). When progressed Jupiter is within 1-2 degrees of the house cusp, you'll start to feel it more, and want to expand in those areas of life the house rules, and can be presented with more opportunities. Marketing and advertising are governed by Jupiter and the 9th house. How comfortable you are with it and how your style is can be found with the sign and house location of your Jupiter, and the sign on the 9th house cusps and any planets in the house. Jupiter or the 9th house in earth and water signs tends to be more traditional and not loud or flashy, and may not be super comfortable promoting yourself, preferring to deflect attention and promote others (especially water signs). Earth signs can be more comfortable for promoting for business purposes, but not too keen for personal reasons.
Fire and air signs can have an easier time with promoting. Fire signs can take action and expose their personality; air signs can make good use of social media.
