For the final article in the Ceres series, to round out all of the basic information, we are now going to cover Ceres in the composite chart. This involves Ceres in relationships. What is the composite chart?
The composite chart takes the natal charts of two or more people and combines them to create a new chart that is considered the chart for the relationship itself. The most common way of combining them is the midpoint method, which finds the exact middle between positions in the charts.
Relationship analysis in astrology considers your individual charts, but also your composite chart. The composite chart can explain why sometimes two people who seem like a perfect fit don't get along at all, or why two people who seem like a total clash get along fantastically. A good or bad composite chart can make or break a relationship. What is Ceres in astrology?
Ceres is a dwarf planet, like Pluto, however in astrology, it's often referred to as an asteroid since that was what it was originally designated. Ceres about 4-5 years to move through the Zodiac, so it's more than 2x's slower than Mars but more than twice as fast as Jupiter. This makes Ceres partly a personal planet with Mercury, Venus, and Mars, but also partly a social planet with Jupiter and Saturn, a bit of a bridge between them.
Ceres is the planet of nourishment, and shows what we need to feel nurtured and supported, how we nurture and support others, and our overall feelings about nourishment. A challenged Ceres in your natal chart may show you've struggled with having enough in your life, while a beneficial Ceres in your natal chart may show you have an abundance of what you need and more. Ceres in the composite chart operates about the same way, but instead of just impacting you, impacts you and the other person. A challenged Ceres in the composite chart can show you struggle to have enough together, while a beneficial Ceres in the composite chart can show you have plenty together. A beneficial composite Ceres is not only good in romantic relationships, but also in family relationships and friendships (thanks to the emotional support) and professional relationships (thanks to Ceres ruling money). It can be difficult to overcome a really challenged Ceres in the composite chart in any relationship. Composite Ceres in the Composite Houses

Abundantia can impact abundance. How will Abundantia in Virgo impact us? Asteroid Abundantia in Virgo 2022 - 2023 Dates:
Asteroid Abundantia in Virgo 2022 - 2023 General Impact:Abundantia in Virgo can bring abundant energy to work since Virgo is the sign of work. We may do extra work, take on extra projects, finish extra chores, and our productivity can soar. We can be efficient with our time and energy, and strive to get as much done as we can, and operate as seamlessly as possible. Virgo rules organization, structure, and order, so Abundantia in Virgo can help us get organized, make lists, create new routines and regimens, and implement some order. This can help us get more done, and we can create abundance in our lives when we're streamlining and sticking to schedules. Virgo is also the sign of health, so Abundantia in Virgo can bring abundant energy for health matters. We can give more attention to health issues, and do more to try and improve and feel healthier. We can focus on our stress levels, and work to lower them in healthy ways. But, since Abundantia is abundant, that can also mean health issues get worse, especially if we're not trying to control it or we're going about it in an unhealthy way. Virgo rules the details, the little things, so Abundatia in Virgo can give us a great eye for the details. We can pay closer attention, and we can create opportunities and abundance in small ways that add up over time. Abundantia Retrograde in VirgoAbundantia is going to retrograde while in Virgo, and retrogrades tend to throw things off, so Abunandaita retrograde can mean we're not feeling as abundant as usual, and opportunities seem to dry up. It's more of a time of scarcity.
In Virgo, this may mean we don't have as many work opportunities, we're stalled with projects, we're too caught up in the details or completely missing them, or we're way too lazy with health matters or going way too far. Middle ground can be difficult! We likely need to approach abundance in a different way, with a different perspective and outlook. Retrogrades are also subconscious and karmic energy, so we likely need to reflect, turn inward, and be more introspective about issues around lack versus abundance, old traumas where we were deprived, or baggage that is getting in the way. With Virgo, this retrograde period can make us more aware of how stress is really holding us back in many areas of our lives, as well as how we hold ourselves back on our own. How are we our own worst enemy? How and why do we feel we don't deserve to have enough? It can also be a time to create abundance in ways we have before, that used to work and could work again, at least temporarily. These may be small ways, little things, with Virgo, and we can get some relief. Ceres, dwarf planet of nourishment, also retrogrades in Virgo, March 22nd to May 6th 2023, so partly overlaps with Abundantia. They don't conjunct (align), but with Ceres also retrograde in Virgo, there may be issues around having necessary resources, money problems, and lack energy can be strong, so we have to work harder at approaching it differently. Abundantia retrograde begins January 12th 2023 trine, which is a beneficial aspect, Uranus in Taurus, and Uranus ends its own retrograde a few days later on January 22nd. Because of this, they are trine each other for basically all of January. This is great energy for using Uranus for abundance. Uranus is the planet of change, the unconventional, and innovation, so we may work to change how we attain abundance, embrace unconventional ways of creating opportunities, and innovate, be inventive, and push outside of our comfort zones for abundance. On the same day Abundantia retrograde begins, Mars retrograde ends in Gemini, and Mercury retrograde ends in Capricorn on January 18th. The planets are moving forward at this point (briefly until Ceres retrograde kicks in), and Abundantia is urging a second look, to make sure we've got everything covered. Lessons learned during the other retrogrades may take some time to fully implement. Abundantia retrograde ends on April 14th opposite Saturn in Pisces and square, which is a challenging aspect, Venus in Gemini, so coming out of the retrograde may bring some challenging energy. We may want to blow the gates wide open, but have difficulty doing that as we have to consider limitations. Saturn forces us to be cautious and slow and responsible. Venus may take away some action, and we may have some challenges dealing with others as well. We may need to be mindful of stubbornness and letting a bad attitude fester. I also just want to note one oddity, Abundantia won't conjunct, or align with, any planets while in Virgo. So, it's not really amplifying any of the planets directly, and the strongest is around the start and end of the retrograde. What does this turn direct have in store for us? Saturn in Astrology
Saturn is the planet of responsibility and lessons. Saturn is the teacher, and sometimes teaches those lessons in a very harsh way. Humans tend to be stubborn, and that annoys Saturn!
In transit, Saturn restricts. When this is beneficial, the restriction streamlines and makes things easier for us; when this is challenging, the restriction makes us feel overwhelmed and held back. What is direct in astrology?
A planet or body in astrology is called retrograde when it appears to be moving backward through the Zodiac from our view here on Earth. When the planet or body is no longer appearing to move backward, this is called turning direct, and the planet or body is now or will be moving forward.
Most planets/bodies move forward as their normal motion, so this can be helpful. The issue when a planet or body is turning direct (or retrograde) is it slows way down and hovers in the same spot, called stationing. This can be frustrating because we're not really moving in any way. We're not going backward or forward, we're stalled and waiting for things to pick back up. If the planet/body is making any aspects, these aspects are intensified because they are continuous while the planet/body is stalled. Saturn Direct: October 23 2022 at 12:07AM ET/October 22nd 2022 at 9:07PM PT
This Saturn direct ends in Aquarius, and it's the final pone in Aquarius until Saturn comes back to Aquarius in a few decades. Saturn will now be moving forward freely until it moves into Pisces in March 2023.
This means that once we're moving forward, we may do aso at a brisk pace. Not too brisk though, since Mars retrograde starts in a week! With Saturn moving forward, we can feel less restricted and less overwhelmed, and can have a better view of our goals, our plans, and our direction. We can make use of discipline and use a practical, realistic approach. Now, this Saturn direct is square, which is a challenging aspect, Uranus in Taurus. This aspect was the dominant one in 2021 that led a lot of people to make some big changes in their lives, especially professionally. This aspect doesn't go exact like it did last year, however it's been in effect since late August, and remains in effect until mid-November. Funny how last year, we had the "Great Resignation", and we're hearing now about "quiet quitting". How apt! Our professional lives got the biggest impact since Saturn is the natural ruler of career and Uranus is in Taurus, sign of money, so there's been a lot of shaking things up there. But really, it can be anything that has become the status quo where we feel stuck and need to break out with changemaker Uranus. Saturn is in the sign of Aquarius, ruler of the future, our hopes and dreams, so the future we were planning has likely changed quite a bit since Saturn has been in Aquarius (that might be an understatement). As we're nearing the end of this transit, this is when Saturn likes to reward us for the things we did right and the lessons we learned, so we may see some progress being made to improve the future in this new mold. Saturn Direct 2022 Aspects
The turn direct occurs at 18 degrees 35 minutes Aquarius, so major aspects are:
Conjunction: 15 degrees 35 minutes - 21 degrees 35 minutes Aquarius Sextile: 15 degrees 35 minutes - 21 degrees 35 minutes Aries or Sagittarius Square: 15 degrees 35 minutes - 21 degrees 35 minutes Taurus or Scorpio Trine: 15 degrees 35 minutes - 21 degrees 35 minutes Gemini or Libra Opposition: 15 degrees 35 minutes - 21 degrees 35 minutes Leo Look through your natal chart and see if you have any planets or bodies located at these positions. This aspect will be strong for you right now, and likely for the next month. Use the interpretations from the Transit Saturn page for information about potential impact. November comes with our last eclipse for 2022, a lunar eclipse in Taurus, and a new moon in positive Sagittarius! What is a New Moon?A new moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact same position in the Zodiac (called a conjunction). New moons are related to beginnings, have high energy, and are enthusiastic. What is a Lunar Eclipse?A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). Full moons are related to endings, culminations, and are emotional energy. Lunar eclipses occur when full moons are within 18 1/2 degrees of the Lunar Nodes (the points in the Moon's orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic). Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: November 8th 2022 (6:03AM ET/3:03AM PT)Our final eclipse for 2022 comes to us in November as a lunar eclipse in Taurus. This is the second one in this eclipse set since we also had a lunar eclipse in Taurus about a year ago, so we may be continuing some of the themes from about a year ago with this eclipse. The Taurus lunar eclipse can spotlight what we're insecure about, what we're uncertain with, and what we're experiencing instability with, and we can feel more emotionally uneasy because of this. It's spotlighting this to get us to do something about it and finally make improvements. If we haven't been doing things the right way when it comes to what we value, how we develop our confidence, and money matters, this eclipse may punish us for that, and we can experience more challenges and delays. But if we've done things the right way, we may see some rewards, and make progress or have new opportunities. We do need to remember that Mars is also retrograde appearing to move backward) for this eclipse, so frustrations can easily lead to fights and violence, and we need to manage frustrated energy in a healthy way. This lunar eclipse has some extra wild energy as it's opposite both Mercury and Venus in Scorpio, square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) Saturn in Aquarius, and conjunct (aligned with) Uranus in Taurus. Yikes! That is very hard energy! Communication may be a problem thanks to Mercury, there can be difficulties with others thanks to Venus, we can feel overwhelmed and stifled thanks to Saturn, and it may seem like chaos is winning thanks to Uranus. Again, we need to be responsible, manage frustrations properly, do things the right way and for the right reasons. The Taurus solar eclipse about 6 months ago was also conjunct Uranus, so these eclipses have been big triggers for change on a larger scale as well as individually. Take control of the changes you want to make and go about them in healthy, productive ways. The lunar eclipse occurs at 16 degrees 1 minute Taurus. Aspects to the full moon are: Conjunction: 11 degrees 1 minute - 21 degrees 1 minute Taurus Semisextile: 14 degrees 1 minute - 18 degrees 1 minute Aries or Gemini Sextile: 11 degrees 1 minute - 21 degrees 1 minute Cancer or Pisces Square: 11 degrees 1 minute - 21 degrees 1 minute Leo or Aquarius Trine: 11 degrees 1 minute - 21 degrees 1 minute Virgo or Capricorn Quincunx: 14 degrees 1 minute - 16 degrees 1 minute Libra or Sagittarius Opposition: 11 degrees 1 minute - 21 degrees 1 minute Scorpio New Moon in Sagittarius: November 23rd 2022 (5:58PM ET/2:58PM PT)The new moon in November comes to us in upbeat Sagittarius, and this is usually a very positive new moon. We're much more optimistic, want to focus on the good, and we can have a positive outlook on life.
Sagittarius is the big thinker, so we can come up with big ideas, big plans, and see the big picture. We can see what's possible, and believe that it really is possible. We're thinking to big and bright that we can talk big, but sometimes we don't back this up with action, so that's something we have to keep in mind. Actions speak louder than words! There's big Sagittarius energy with this new moon because Venus enters Sagittarius 7 days before, Mercury enters Sagittarius 6 days before, the Sun enters Sagittarius the day before, and the natural ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter, ends its retrograde on the same day as the new moon (4 minutes later!). We may be extra focused on things that Jupiter/Sagittarius rule: expansion in some way, learning/teaching/education, writing/words, travel/flight, the law. The new moon occurs at 1 degree 38 minutes Sagittarius. Aspects to this new moon are: Conjunction: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 3 degrees 38 minutes Sagittarius Sextile: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 3 degrees 38 minutes Libra or Aquarius Square: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 3 degrees 38 minutes Virgo or Pisces Trine: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 3 degrees 38 minutes Aries or Leo Opposition: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 3 degrees 38 minutes Gemini Since the new moon is early in Sagittarius, aspects may also be felt out-of-sign (as if it were late in Scorpio), but only with planets at 29 degrees (and it still might be very faint). They would be in: Conjunction: Scorpio Sextile: Virgo or Capricorn Square: Leo or Aquarius Trine: Cancer or Pisces Opposition: Taurus Suggested Reading: The New & Full Moons page for general interpretations by house and aspects The progressed chart adds one day to your date of birth for every year you've been alive to create a new chart reflective of your maturation and growth, and it can be used in predictive analysis.
