Your Solar Return occurs around your birthday (the day before, of, or after), and is when the transit (moving) Sun returns to the exact same position it was at when you were born. Suggested Reading: Lunar Returns & the Moon in the Solar Return Chart It’s eclipse time! February brings with it our first set of eclipses for 2017. First up is a lunar eclipse in fire sign Leo on February 10th at 7:33PM ET. This eclipse in the first in Leo, and lunar eclipses tend to be more emotional, but Leo wants us to be a little happier and more positive, so we can try to look at serious matters and emotional issues through a positive lens. Let’s all have a little fun instead of getting caught up in the badness in the world?
We can be a little more theatrical when we’re upset, and need to take it down a notch (or ten). We can benefit from being creative, playful, and joyful, and see that things aren’t so bad when we try to be positive. The lunar eclipse is sextile (positive aspect, two signs away) Jupiter in Libra, and trine (positive aspect, four signs away) Saturn in Sagittarius. These aspects add to the good energy of this eclipse, so we can be even more positive with Jupiter involved (the planet of optimism), and we can be more practical and disciplined with the energy with Saturn involved. This lunar eclipse occurs at 22 degrees 28 minutes Leo. Eclipses have a larger orb (5 degrees), and include two of the minor aspects (semisextiles and quincunxes), though they have a smaller orb (2 degrees), SO the aspects for this eclipse are: Conjunction: 17 degrees 28 minutes - 27 degrees 28 minutes Leo Semisextile: 20 degrees 28 minutes - 24 degrees 28 minutes Cancer or Virgo Sextile: 17 degrees 28 minutes - 27 degrees 28 minutes Gemini or Libra Trine: 17 degrees 28 minutes - 27 degrees 28 minutes Aries or Sagittarius Quincunx: 20 degrees 28 minutes - 24 degrees 28 minutes Capricorn or Pisces Opposition: 17 degrees 28 minutes - 27 degrees 28 minutes Aquarius A solar eclipse occurs on February 26th at 9:58AM ET in water sign Pisces. This is the last of the Pisces eclipses, so we can see a lot of wrapping up going on with this eclipse, especially since Pisces is the last sign. We can take everything that we’ve dealt with over the last couple years with the Pisces eclipses, and put it all together, wrap it up, and get a fresh start. We can be more compassionate, understanding, whimsical, imaginative, intuitive, and soulful. We can get in touch with our spiritual sides, and we can find a way to connect to the subtle vibrations around us. This solar eclipse is conjunct (aligned with) Neptune in Pisces, and Neptune is the ruler of Pisces. This amplifies the Pisces energy even more, and we can be even more intuitive, even more spiritual, even more imaginative, and even more compassionate. Neptune and Pisces energy, in prediction, is “dissolving”, and things tend to fade out of our lives. We may see something in the world dissolve away, fade into the background, becoming a distant memory as we move on. This solar eclipse occurs at 8 degrees 12 minutes Pisces. The aspects for this eclipse are: Conjunction: 3 degree 12 minutes - 13 degrees 12 minutes Pisces Semisextile: 6 degrees 12 minutes - 10 degrees 12 minutes Aries or Aquarius Sextile: 3 degree 12 minutes - 13 degrees 12 minutes Taurus or Capricorn Square: 3 degree 12 minutes - 13 degrees 12 minutes Gemini or Sagittarius Trine: 3 degree 12 minutes - 13 degrees 12 minutes Cancer or Scorpio Quincunx: 6 degrees 12 minutes - 10 degrees 12 minutes Leo or Libra Opposition: 3 degree 12 minutes - 13 degrees 12 minutes Virgo Note: Eclipses are new and full moons that occur 18 ½ degrees from the lunar nodes. Lunar eclipses fall on full moons, while solar eclipse fall on new moons. Eclipses can impact up to six months before and after. General horoscopes are always meant for entertainment purposes only. Aries February 2017 Monthly Horoscope Venus enters your sign, Aries, on February 3rd, and you can be more comfortable with and enjoy getting attention, being in the spotlight, or being praised. In love, you can be more charming, and if single, you can find it easier to attract new people to you, and you can enjoy the attention you get. If in a relationship, you may make it more of a priority, and want your partner to give you more of their time. As we start a new year, we don’t just focus on the new things we want to get started in our lives. It’s also a time to focus on the stuff we need to let go of, move on from, and say goodbye to. This is governed by the 12th house, which is the house of endings. Make sure you're signed up for the free monthly worksheet so you can keep track of the planets every month (and know when to plan for things like endings!). Good Times to Say Goodbye Astrologically:
If you want the ending to go smoothly, you usually want to see positive aspects (sextiles and trines) by transit (moving) Jupiter, Saturn, or Pluto to your 12th house cusp, ruler, or Neptune (the natural ruler of the 12th house). This will help you say goodbye and move on without too much nastiness.
If it’s something that will be quick, you can use a Uranus aspect, and even conjunctions, square, and oppositions (the hard aspects) by Uranus can be positive, especially if it’s a big change where you’ve been stuck and need a giant push to do. Uranus is the planet that rules the sudden, so Uranus is usually involved when it's quick. This may be an aspect by transit Uranus or an aspect to your natal Uranus. But when it is a hard aspect, there may be an unexpected quality to it, and you have some adjustments to make. Pluto conjunctions, squares, and oppositions can also be used for big change. It may be more of a challenge though, and you really have to push hard for the ending to come. You may have some trials and tribulations to go through first, and you end up learning a lot about yourself, others, relationships, or life. Transit Neptune aspects can be good for saying goodbye depending on the planet or house being aspected and what they rule. If it’s a love relationship, it can be aspects to Venus, the 5th house (of love), or the 7th house (of relationships). If it’s with your work or career, it can be aspects to Mercury or the 6th house (of work), or Saturn or the 10th house (of career). The nature of Neptune is to "dissolve", and it's the natural ruler of the 12th house of endings, so it's naturally associated with endings. With Neptune, they're not usually as dramatic as with other planets (especially Uranus and Pluto), and it can be more of a gradual fading away into the background and out of your life at times. It can also be helpful to see the planet that rules whatever it is you’re letting go of transiting (touring) the 12th house (so if it’s a love relationship, transit Venus in the 12th house; if it’s with your work life, transit Mercury in the 12th house, etc.). If you don’t have that, you can use the transit planet of the natal planet that rules the house that rules the matter in your natal chart (so if your 7th house is in Sagittarius, Jupiter is the ruler - that would make transit Jupiter in the 12th house can be good for endings in a relationship). Transit Mars in the 12th house can be an excellent time for goodbyes and a lot of letting go, and often is a time where you absolutely want and need to. This is because Mars is the planet of energy and drive, so you can be driven to clean out your life and let go of anything that’s been holding you back. It can be best when you also have a positive transit aspect to the 12th house cusp, ruler, or natal Neptune or transit Neptune aspect at the same time that transit Mars is in the 12th house. Challenging Goodbyes: Saturn
Transit Saturn in the 12th house or conjunct, square, or opposite the 12th house cusp or ruler can make it harder for you to say goodbye, because you usually have hoops to jump through or extra stuff that needs to be addressed. Saturn is restrictive by nature and wants to teach us lessons, so it may be really uncomfortable to say goodbye, or there may be issues that have to be resolved first before goodbye is possible.
BUT it can also become super important for you to say goodbye with Saturn, because Saturn may not stop tormenting you until you do, if this is truly the right thing for you to be doing. Saturn always wants you to do the right thing, but also wants to make sure you do it the right way. Suggested Reading: Beginnings & Astrology Mars is the planet of energy and drive, so this is the planet that can motivate you. How you’re motivated and what you’re motivated to do usually depends on the house that transit (moving) Mars is located. Mars travels through the entire Zodiac in about 2 years, so he goes through all 12 of your houses over the course of about 2 years, and spends about 2 months or so in each house, bringing energy and drive to the areas of life ruled by that house. During that time, you can be motivated to make things happen.
This is from the Transit Mars page on the website (one of the many learning pages!): Transit Mars in the 1st House When transit Mars is in your 1st house, you feel more energetic than you have in some time, and it’s usually the most energetic period you have in about two years. You have more drive to do things, and are enthusiastic about new beginnings. This is a good time to start anything new, although you may have the tendency to start something and then move on to start something else quickly afterwards. Make sure you have physical outlets for the abundance of energy so you don’t get restless and agitated. You’re more impulsive, argumentative, and competitive. You can also be accident-prone during this transit, and get cuts, scrapes, or breaks. If you’re prone to getting headaches, you may get more of them now. Transit Mars in the 2nd House When transit Mars is in your 2nd house, you’re driven to have more security in your life. You want to be financially sound, and can work harder at making more money. You may take on a second job, start a side gig, or pursue some sort of money-making venture. The more money you have, the more secure you feel. Conversely, you can also spend more money during this time, not paying attention to how much you’re spending and blowing through money quickly. You may strongly defend your beliefs, identifying with them more. This can be a good time to evaluate your values and make sure they fit with your life now. You want more stability, and are less likely to take any big risks. You keep your nose to the grindstone, working on things you’ve already begun. Transit Mars in the 3rd House When transit Mars is in your 3rd house, you’re driven to communicate openly. There’s a lot that you have to say, and you’re going to say it. Any conversations that need to be had, you try to have now. Your mind is much more active, and this can be good for mental projects and intellectual pursuits. You need to stay busy though, otherwise the mental activity will lead to anxiousness. Keep your mind occupied. You can find yourself in a car or bus or train more than usual, traveling short distances. Your schedule is packed, and you’re more social and engaging with others. You’re a little more scatterbrained, and take on many different projects that could be hard to keep track of. You could become active in your neighborhood or community, deal with young people, or start learning something new. If you’re prone to headaches/migraines, you could have more now. Transit Mars in the 4th House When transit Mars is in your 4th house, you’re driven to be more comfortable and crave familiarity. You don’t care much for trying new things now, preferring to stick to what you know and have done before. You’re less social and want to spend more time at home or with your family. You can defend your family, but also argue with them more. Your family may require more attention from you for some reason. You can work on your home at this time, or try to buy, sell, or move. If transit Uranus is also in the 4th house, it can happen unexpectedly or suddenly. You can also be more subjective, having a harder time seeing things outside of your own perspective, and are less open to other people. Transit Mars in the 5th House When transit Mars is in your 5th house, you’re driven to express yourself. Your creativity surges, and you can take a creative approach to matters and projects. This is a good time to pursue a creative endeavor. You have more energy for fun instead of work, and have a hard time focusing on your duties and responsibilities. Try to take as much time off as you can or give yourself plenty of spare time to do whatever pleases you. Your inner child can come out a little, and you can pick up a new hobby. This is also a good time for love and romance, and you have more energy for both of those things. You’re more flirty, and if single, could have the chance to date many people or meet new suitors. If attached, you can reignite the flame and inject more passion into the relationship. Transit Mars in the 6th House When transit Mars is in your 6th house, you’re driven to work. There’s a lot to do and you’re completely focused on getting every little task done. You tackle the basics first, the things that absolutely need to get done before you can do anything else, and your responsibilities. You can take on more projects and duties, and be busier during this time. You may appear scattered, but you want to be busy, otherwise the idle energy will turn into anxiousness. You could have some issues at work with your coworkers, getting into arguments with them, or have a workplace injury. This can be a great time to look for a new job. You also have more energy to tackle health issues, and can become driven to improve your lifestyle. Transit Mars in the 7th House When transit Mars is in your 7th house, you’re driven to commit and compromise. You want to have more commitment in your life, through your personal and business relationships, and with the projects and appointments you commit yourself to. The idea of commitment isn’t as terrifying as it might usually be. You can butt heads with your loved ones a little more during this time, but you find a way to compromise quickly so it doesn’t drag on for too long. If single, this can be a time where you decide to make a relationship more serious. You can also strive to bring more balance and harmony in your life, needing it to maintain your energy. Transit Mars in the 8th House When transit Mars is in your 8th house, you’re driven to transform. You’re not satisfied with something in your life, and strive to change it. You could take something old and make it new again. You’re more intense and investigating, and you have the energy to get to the core of any matter. You can pick up on the little things that people do and say, allowing you to make quicker judgments, which is necessary because you likely have to work more with others to get things done right now. You can have disputes with a business partner or over joint finances. You might want to be the one in control of the situation, but total dominance won’t help. Transit Mars in the 9th House When transit Mars is in your 9th house, you’re driven to expand your life in some way. There’s so much out there in the world for you to experience and learn about, and you want to do something new. You may dream of exploring some faraway land, and if you can travel, go for it. Most of you will likely just explore in your head, read about foreign places, try exotic cuisine, watch foreign films, or meet people from other cultures. This can be a good time to begin learning something new, take a class, or go back to school. You may feel restless if you force yourself to stick to traditional ways and your normal routine. Throw routine out of the window during this transit, and do something unexpected. Be spontaneous. Have a little thrill, no matter how small. Transit Mars in the 10th House When transit Mars is in your 10th house, you’re driven to succeed. However much success you’ve had, it’s not enough. There’s always more that you can do. Your ambition surges, and you focus on your long-term goals. You’re hard-working and can make realistic plans for how to get what you want. You may focus more on your career than anything else, which can be good for your career, and bad for everything else. It’s a good period for making strides in your career, starting a new business, or embarking on a new career path. You can be recognized for the work you do, or at least, you want to be. The more you accomplish and the more people notice, the more confident you feel. You could have issues with parents, mentors, bosses, or other authority figures. Transit Mars in the 11th House When transit Mars is in your 11th house, you’re driven to innovate, dream, and hope. You take a totally different approach to situations, and are more enthusiastic about ideas that are considered futuristic and strange. This is a good time for working in a group that holds the same beliefs you do towards a common goal. Working in a group may be the only way you can accomplish anything during this transit. You can do good humanitarian work during this time, and are quite busy with a packed social calendar. You dream more about your future, and what you’d ideally love to have happen. You can work more towards those dreams, and have more energy and drive to accomplish them. Transit Mars in the 12th House When transit Mars is in your 12th house, you’re driven to retreat and reflect. Being around other people can be draining to you right now, and you prefer being alone. Working alone is when you have the best energy, and you want to be out of the spotlight and working behind the scenes where no one will notice you. Your dreams become more prominent, and you can have some wild dreams, find yourself daydreaming more, or conversely, have trouble sleeping. Your imagination can surge, and this can be a creative time. Your intuition can surge as well, though you may not be consciously aware of that. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to rest, replenish, and recover so you’re ready for when transit Mars enters your 1st house and life gets hectic. |
