Some of us are old school. We like old books and movies and television shows, we collect old gadgets and love antique stores, we like retro fashion and hair styles. Whether we’re straight out of the 1920’s or 1990’s, we love a throwback. So what brings this out?
Saturn rules history, antiques, and a love of the past, so when you’re an old school type, you’ll usually see a prominent Saturn, lots of Capricorn (ruled by Saturn), or a prominent 10th house (ruled by Saturn). Saturn can make lots of aspects in your chart, conjunct your Sun or Moon, be at a critical or anaretic degree, be a singleton, or be the least aspected planet in your chart. You can have multiple Capricorn planets or a Capricorn Sun or Moon or Rising. Your 10th house can have multiple planets, your Sun or Moon, or be at a critical or anaretic degree. All of these make the old schooler in you more prominent. You can also see a tie in with the 5th house, which rules what you love. Capricorn on the 5th house cusp, Saturn in the 5th house or aspecting the cusp or ruler, or the ruler of the 10th house in the 5th house or ruler of the 5th house in the 10th house. Funnily enough, you can also see Uranus/Aquarius/11th house in the mix here. It’s funny because this trio rules the future, but this trio is also unconventional, so they can appreciate a little retro flavor at times. When you’re someone who has both Saturn/Capricorn/10th house and Uranus/Aquarius/11th house, you can be futuristically retro! This was originally from the August 3rd newsletter:
Leo is the sign of drama. This literally includes theater and film, but can also mean the drama in your life, both good and bad. The house with Leo on the cusp (the cusp of a house is the very beginning of that house) in your natal chart can show where drama seems to find you, or you're a little dramatic (should I say drama queen?), though it doesn't have to be bad drama since Leo can be fun too. Since the 1st house rules you, a Leo rising can show you come across as a dramatic person (though with the rising, we tend to play up the better parts of the sign, so people can enjoy your theatrics in a light, humorous way - think Justin Timberlake). With the 2nd house, it can be financially; with the 6th house, with your work; and with the 10th house, with your career. Actually, Leo on any of these house cusps can be great for someone in the arts and entertainment industry (quite common on the 10th house cusp). The 3rd house cusp in Leo can make you theatrical, dramatic with the way you communicate and express yourself, while the 9th house can make your theatrics bigger, or the drama in your life bigger, but you keep a good attitude about it. Both are good for writers. The 7th house cusp in Leo can bring theatrics in your relationships (or you have relationships with theatrical people), while the 11th house can bring friendships that are theatrical or with theatrical people. Drama and theater can be in your home life with Leo on the 4th house cusp, though you can also have more joy, or have a dramatic parent. With the 8th house, drama can lead you to make transformations in your life, or you make transformations in a dramatic way. The 5th house is naturally ruled by Leo, so if you have Leo on this house cusp, you can feel at ease with drama, like it's less of a problem. If you have Leo on the 12th house cusp, you can hide the drama and theatrics, not wanting anyone to see, or experience drama behind the scenes. October 2015 Full & New Moons: New Moon in Libra & Full Moon in Taurus
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism. For information on how the new/full moons may impact your sign, read the monthly horoscope. October 12th 2015 New Moon in Libra A new moon occurs at 8:06PM ET at 19 degrees 20 minutes of Libra. In Libra, we want to commit ourselves to the people we care about and the projects we’re passionate about. We don’t want to waffle anymore, and know that committing ourselves will give us what we need. We feel good with loved ones, and enjoy getting some one-on-one attention. We can enter into new relationships and partnerships, and we do better with them than without them. This new moon is opposite transit (moving) Uranus in Aries, and we can rebel without reason, reject tradition with disdain, or avoid originality with fear. If you're a Libra Sun, Moon, or mid-Libra rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most. October 27th 2015 Full Moon in Taurus A full moon occurs at 8:05AM ET at 3 degrees 44 minutes of Taurus. In Taurus, we’re too stubborn to deal with, and don’t want to move from our position. We take our time with everything, too long, and then don’t budge even when we know we’re wrong. We care too much about material things and money, and we can buy things we don’t need and spend ourselves into a mountain of debt. We care too much about what other people think about us, and we allow that to dictate how we feel about ourselves, so our confidence ebbs and flows. Don’t be at their mercy. They don’t deserve that. If you’re a Taurus Sun, Moon, or rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most. All general horoscopes are meant for entertainment purposes only.
