Ceres is technically a dwarf planet (like Pluto) but in astrology, we call it an asteroid (as it was before the dwarf planet designation). Ceres is super nurturing, supportive, caring, and there for you. I describe it as a supercharged Moon (maybe mixed with a little Venus). We may need more support for our ideas and plans, and want encouragement with our opinions and thoughts. We may focus more on ideas that lead to greater nourishment and support in life, for ourselves and for others. This is a whole different approach to everything involving others and your relationships, and there can be super major developments around when this happens. You can track transit aspects to your natal planets, and you can also track transit aspects to your progressed planets, including your progressed Venus. Since your progressed Venus is ahead of your natal Venus (usually, unless retrograde), this can expand aspects by transit planets as they first hit your natal Venus and then hit your progressed Venus some time later. Might be many years later!
And in some cases, transit aspects to your progressed Venus can last for many years. Progressed Venus and transit Pluto, for example, can move together for 10 or more years if they sync up right. This can be very helpful when it's a beneficial aspect (sextile or trine), but pretty challenging when it's a conjunction, square, or opposition (can sometimes explain reeeeeally long periods alone!). You can use your progressed Venus when looking at whether or not you connect with someone, similarly to your natal Venus. This difference is that your progressed Venus is temporary while your natal Venus is permanent. That means connections that occur to your progressed Venus may not stick around once your progressed Venus has moved on, unless you have other natal chart and composite chart connections to make it last. It can be strong while it's in effect, but it needs something else to keep it.

There is something in an astrology chart called the angles, which are the Ascendant-Descendant and Imum Coeli-Midheaven. They connect to the 4 pillars of life, and they pair up, lying on an axis. The Ascendant-Descendant axis is the axis of relationships, and shows how you focus on the self (Ascendant) and focus on others (Descendant). Natal planets aspecting your Ascendant-Descendant axis can impact how you find balance between the two. Planets that are square, which is a hard aspect, can indicate major challenges and blocks you need to work through in order to do that. Natal Planets Square the Ascendant & Descendant:
The Sun: There can be challenges in presenting yourself as you want to, and this can create problems with people you meet. Others may think you’re trying to control them or situations, even when you’re not. You may have a hard time feeling understood or relating to others properly. The Moon: There can be challenges in expressing what you truly feel, and how you come across as feeling may not reflect your true feelings. This can get in the way in relationships as it prevents you from feeling secure enough to share what you feel, and also slow you from being able to act on what you want subconsciously. The block here may be preventing you from having good self-confidence, and you may repeat old patterns that keep you on the hamster wheel until you break them. Mercury: There can be challenges with communicating and expressing yourself openly. You may feel misunderstood a lot, and anxious or stumbling over your words. The block here may have to do with embracing open and honest dialogue and being confident in your ability to express yourself so you’re not worried about how others will react to what you think or have to say. If Mercury is retrograde, this is likely tied to the different way you perceive the world, and needing to see that as an asset instead of a liability. Venus: There can be challenges with expressing affectionate feelings properly in relationships, and you may hold back more than you should, or go overboard. Mars: There can be challenges with being overly aggressive, and this can get you in trouble in relationships as others feel you’re being too pushy or are too quick to become angry. The extra energy with this placement requires a positive outlet, otherwise it can create lots of problems. If Mars is retrograde, you may attract many who want to control you and have difficulties with anger themselves, and this may be a reflection of something you’re holding deep inside. Jupiter: There can be challenges with growing as a person, and you may struggle at times with putting your energy in too many directions so you don’t end up doing as much. Saturn: There can be challenges with being connected with others, and you may feel cut off in some way. You may feel you have to hold back for one reason or another, and don’t allow for complete emotional, mental, or physical connections. Usually, whatever career you end up choosing, you'll find it directly ties into your Midheaven somehow. It may be ruled by the sign your Midheaven falls in, planets in the 10th house (connecting to the Midheaven), or the natural planetary ruler of your Midheaven sign. Now, here's the thing - not everyone has major goals that are professional in nature. Some people never want a career, and their goals are not related to work. Your aspirations may be related to family, philanthropy, heck even simply being a beach bum! (haha)
This is usually still shown through your Midheaven. They're still goals, just not professional ones. In these cases, you'll usually see the Moon/Cancer (ruling family), Uranus/Aquarius (ruling charity, but also the unconventional), or Neptune/Pisces (for the beach bum!) involved. Bottom line, you're going to see it reflected with your Midheaven somehow, so don't automatically assume that it's career and career only. It's not! When can I achieve my goals?
You tend to make progress when your Midheaven is being activated by transit (moving) planets. The biggest times usually come when you have a transit or progressed planet, or a new/full moon/eclipse conjunct (aligned with) your Midheaven. You can see all of your hard, smart work pay off and experience some success or positive developments then. BUT only if you've been working smart and doing things the right way! Otherwise, these are times you can experience major setbacks.
Transit and progressed planets, and new/full moons/eclipses that are sextile or trine your Midheaven can bring positive periods for you without the worry about setbacks. These are the beneficial aspects, so you don't have to deal with the challenges as much. But they're not as strong as the conjunction to the Midheaven. Transit and progressed planets, and new/full moons/eclipses that square your Midheaven can bring the biggest challenges to progress. You likely have some blocks that you need to work through, and you still may not make progress, but can at least stave off the big setbacks or failures. New Moon in Leo: August 8th 2021 (9:51AM ET/6:51AM PT)
Leo new moons are often really nice energy, and we can focus on what and who we love most. We want to enjoy ourselves, and we want to let loose. This is a great time for play, getting away from work and duties, and just having a good time. Try to make time for goofing off where you can.
Leo is a highly creative sign, so we can be super creative with a Leo new moon. You can start new creative projects, and can focus on them with enthusiasm. You can infuse everything you do with creative energy, and this can help you focus on even mundane tasks. This can be a good time to express yourself, to get or give attention, and we may seek the spotlight. We're more comfortable with it, and want the praise and adoration. This new moon is square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) transit (moving) Uranus in Taurus. This can kick up the impatient, impulsive energy of Uranus, and we may push for things a little too fast, without thinking things through. We may want change, but we need to be smart about it. Another full moon in Aquarius! The July full moon is also in Aquarius, so this is the second in a row. That usually means the two Moons are linked, and what was focused on around the first one in July is again focused on with this second one in August. It may be that something started in July and finishes in August, or we get an idea of things in July and see culminations in August. This can be a bit time for culminations and results, and this may focus on change, the future, our dreams, or the masses. We may gain independence, make strides with innovation, or realize invention.
This full moon is extra strong because it occurs at 29 degrees. 29 degrees is the last degree of a Zodiac sign, and is called the anaretic degree. In transit, it's a point of crisis energy. So the culminations and results we may see can have a major impact on us, and we have to make sure we're reacting appropriately, not lashing out or rushing. This is hot energy and we have to be smart! This full moon is widely conjunct (aligned with) Jupiter in Aquarius, and Jupiter is the planet of expansion, so all of this energy gets expanded to the nth degree. Super super super strong! Jupiter tries to make things better though, since Jupiter doesn't like anything serious or intense or negative. But Jupiter can expand on anything, including the bad.
