A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism.
December 10th 2011 Lunar Eclipse in Gemini The lunar eclipse on the 10th is at 9:37AM ET and occurs at 18 degrees 8 minutes of Gemini. A lunar eclipse is basically a full moon that has the Sun and Moon in the same signs as the lunar nodes. It also has about the same impact as a full moon, but on a larger scale, and for a longer period of time. In Gemini, we're looking at significant endings and culminations related to mental activity, communications, and our day-to-day business. If there's something you need to say to someone, or about something important, say it now. Just make sure you choose your words carefully, because they'll be more likely to be laden with emotion. Watch for breakdowns/problems with technology or electronics. This is a good Moon to write down everything you need to finish (not start, FINISH) of the little things in your life and get them done. If you're a Gemini Sun or Moon between 16 and 20 degrees, or have a Gemini rising in the second half of the sign, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most. December 24th New Moon in Capricorn The new moon on the 24th is at 1:07PM ET and occurs at 2 degrees 34 minutes of Capricorn. Just in time for Christmas! Well, Capricorn is a little more detached and isolated than the other signs, so this'll be a less emotional holiday, and a lot of people may be working through the holiday or spending it alone. Capricorn's more frugal too, so spending less also. Makes sense with this bad economy, eh? It's not all depressing with Capricorn though, rather, it's more like we're being realistic about the situation and our lives and acting accordingly. What's this Moon good for? Work, and lots of it, as long as it's geared towards our career goals and/or will improve our standing in our job or society. Capricorn's an earth sign, so it's also good for environmental matters. If you're a Capricorn Sun or Moon between 0 and 4 degrees, or a Capricorn rising, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most. General horoscopes are always meant for entertainment purposes only. For a more accurate view, read your Sun sign, Rising sign, and Moon sign.
ARIES Midmonth your focus may shift towards your work environment, like looking for/getting a new job; improving your health or dealing with a health issue; and daily habits, perhaps kicking a bad habit or starting a positive new one. The 7th may be a good day for seeing a movie, reading a book, or listening to music. The 16th seems like it may be a day of optimism. You may feel powerful on the 23rd. TAURUS As the month goes on, you'll likely have more energy and drive for your hobbies and just having more of a good time, wanting to get out more with people instead of staying at home. The Full Moon on the 10th falls in your sign, so watch for a possible ending, something coming to fruition in your life at that time, as well as heightened emotions and sensitivity. GEMINI At first, you may be focusing on communications, but halfway through the month you'll likely be spending more time at home dealing with your family, or improving your living situation. Your ruler, Mercury, turns retrograde on the 24th, in the sign opposing you, Sagittarius, so watch for possible miscommunications with people, and feeling like you're a bit out of sorts. CANCER While you may start the month with money as your main concern, communications, technology, travel, and your community could become more prominent in the second half. The Full Moon on the 10th could bring things out with a friend that needs to come out. The Solar Eclipse on the 25th could bring communications with family, especially siblings, neighbors, or young people. LEO You begin November likely riding a surge in energy, feeling very good with your Leo self, and those good feelings could continue through the month. You may be presented with a new way to make money in the second half of the month. Try not to plan anything important on the 20th. Something positively unexpected could come up on the 23rd. VIRGO You may have been feeling drained in October, but your energy could improve by the second half of November, allowing you to get done everything you need to. The blip for November is your ruler, Mercury, turning retrograde on the 24th, perhaps making you feel wonky and bringing potential problems with the home and family. LIBRA Being around other people in groups may be how you feel best going into November, but as the month rolls on, you may want to be by yourself more, feeling more drained physically and needing to re-energize with some R&R. The 3rd could bring something out-of-the-blue, in a good way. The 22nd may be a good day to get things done, and the 24th may be a romantic day. SCORPIO You've likely been focused on your career and life path, but in November focus could shift to your hopes and dreams, your friends, and pursuing causes. The Full Moon on the 10th occurs in your opposing sign, Taurus, so this Moon could bring out things with your close relationships, partnerships, or even make an enemy appear. The 23rd could be a day of good energy. SAGITTARIUS On the 2nd, Mercury and Venus enter your sign, likely amping up communications and making you look and feel better. On the 22nd, the Sun enters Sagittarius, possibly putting the spotlight on you. The Solar Eclipse on the 25th occurs in your sign, bringing you energy, perhaps to clear out the old stuff you don't need anymore. Mercury turns retrograde on the 24th in your sign: your head may be foggy, everything could be redone, no one may be listening and you don't understand it. CAPRICORN Probing deep into issues (and perhaps people) is likely the focus at first with November, but you may become a bit more light-hearted and fancy free for the second half. You may want to try new things and explore in a less serious, more curious way. Venus enters your sign on the 26th, possibly bringing some more lightness to you, and could make you look and feel good. The 22nd could be a good day for a little love. AQUARIUS You've likely been spending a lot of time and energy on your close relationships and partnerships, and through November, you'll want to explore deeper, into everything, not satisfied with the superficial. The 3rd may be a good day with lots of communications and pleasantries, and good for doing something new with your look. You may shine on the 23rd, though 26th may bring a difficulty in love. PISCES Getting all of your work done will likely become less important by the second half of November, and improving your one-on-one relationships could become of most importance. Neptune, your ruler, turns direct on the 9th; most of those with a Pisces Sun, Moon, or Rising feel like they're in a fog when Neptune is retrograde, so you may feel like you've emerged from something you didn't realize you were stuck in. Planetary events for November 2011: 11/2 Venus enters Sagittarius - 4:51AM ET; Mercury enters Sagittarius - 12:54PM ET; 11/9 Neptune turns direct 1:54PM ET; 11/10 Full Moon at 3:16PM ET - 18Taurus4, Mars enters Virgo - 11:15PM ET; 11/19 Enter Mercury Storm; 11/22 Sun enters Sagittarius - 11:08AM ET; 11/24 Mercury turns retrograde - 2:19AM ET; 11/25 Solar Eclipse at 1:10AM ET - 2Sagittarius38; 11/26 Venus enters Capricorn - 7:36AM ET; 11/28 Exit Mercury Storm Mercury retrograde is nearly here! What is Mercury retrograde? A planet is called retrograde when it's moving backwards; it's not ACTUALLY moving backwards, it just appears that way from our vantage point here on Earth. When a planet retrogrades, it makes the stuff the planet rules all wonky. Mercury retrograde is important because it happens 3-4 times every year, and because Mercury rules communications and technology, two hugely important parts of our lives today. So almost anything can get messed up!
We enter the first Mercury storm period November 19th and exit November 28th. We enter the second Mercury storm period December 10th and exit December 19th. The storm of Mercury is when Mercury is moving at it's slowest, less than 40 minutes per day. Mercury is normally a fast mover, so he HATES the slow movement. We usually have two storm periods, one around the date Mercury turns retrograde, and one around the date Mercury turns direct (begins forward movement). Mercury turns retrograde November 24th at 2:19AM ET, and direct on December 13th at 8:43PM ET. This retrograde occurs in the sign of Sagittarius, turning retrograde at 20 degrees and direct at 3 degrees. Sagittarius ruled stuff will be hit most: long-distance travel, the law, higher learning, philosophical beliefs. December 4th could prove to be a difficult day with the Sun conjunct and Mars square Mercury. For how the retrograde will impact you, see which house Mercury will be touring through. If Mercury will cross over a house cusp or turn retrograde or direct near a house cusp or closely aspecting a natal planet, you'll usually feel it most. Those with a Sagittarius Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, or Ascendant will feel it most. The exceptions? If you have Mercury retrograde natally or progressed. Then you're in the clear! Well, sort of. Most of the people you deal with won't have Mercury retrograde natally or progressed, so they could mess you up. Mercury is good for re-'s (redo, renovate, rethink, revise, etc.). So just hang on and remember, we're all in this together! And if anything goes wrong, just blame Mercury.
November 10th 2011 Full Moon in Taurus The full moon on the 10th is at 3:16PM ET and occurs at 18 degrees 4 minutes of Taurus. Taurus is the sign of the senses, and our senses become more tied to our emotional states with a full moon. Indulge a little - but not too much. Taurus rules your income, the money you have to spend, so this is a good moon to end any financial disputes or troubles. Of course, if you've been financially irresponsible, you might have to pay for it under this Moon too. We may feel more lazy, which is fine if you don't have anything to do, but it can get you in trouble if you do. Full moon generally aren't good times to start new things, so you can put that off a few weeks, but if you need to bring closure to something, don't stall. If you're a Taurus Sun or Moon between 16 and 20 degrees, or have a Sagittarius rising in the second half of the sign, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most. November 25th 2011 Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius The solar eclipse on the 25th is at 2:10AM ET and occurs at 2 degrees 38 minutes of Sagittarius. A solar eclipse is basically a new moon that occurs in the same sign as one of the lunar nodes. Because of this, the effects of a solar eclipse are similar to a new moon, but heightened and longer-lasting. Instead of weeks, we're talking months. This is excellent for Saggy things, and we feel much more optimistic and have a positive outlook on the world and the future. We want to connect with other cultures and experience other ways of living. Breaking barriers and roaming free is so Sag. This is a great Moon to travel under if you can and want to. If you can't go far, something near works too, as long as it's something that opens you up to something new. Spending time outdoors is good as well. No matter what, take the time to get in a good laugh - Sagittarius loves the lighter side of life. If you're a Sagittarius Sun or Moon between 0 and 4 degrees, or a Sagittarius rising, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most. |
