It can seem like sometimes, things are stacked against you and you can't figure out why - maybe it's some good old spiritual baggage! People often feel this way with two areas, relationships and money. Spiritual Money Blocks in your Natal Chart
One of the most spiritual positions in your natal chart are your Lunar Nodes, which are the points in the Moon's orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic. There's a North Node and a South Node, and they exactly oppose one another. The North Node is your potential, but is unfamiliar, while the South Node is comfortable, but is crutches and habits you need to let go of.
The South Node often links to your baggage, but since it's so familiar, you don't usually read it that way. It can take time before you realize it's hindering your progress. Meanwhile with the North Node, we tend to run away from it because it's so uncomfortable at first, and this can create problems with it for a while. If either of your Lunar Nodes are in the 2nd house of money, in the sign of Taurus (ruling money), or if your natal Venus or Ceres (planets of money) or natal 2nd house ruler are in the same sign as one of your Lunar Nodes, this may show some spiritual issues with money. When it's with the South Node, it can show bad money habits that need to be released, or bad money attitudes. When it's with the North Node, it can show needing to embrace your financial decisions and have confidence in your abilities to manage money. Neptune is also linked to your spiritual baggage, so if your natal Neptune is in the 2nd house, or conjunct, square, or opposite your natal Venus, Ceres or 2nd house ruler, this can also show blocks. There may be challenging experiences with not having enough in your life, and you may be someone who has to detach from material possessions (that doesn't mean shunning money or possessions, but rather not being as emotionally detached to it). Your natal Saturn can impact money blocks too as the Lord of Karma. Saturn is the teacher in your natal chart, and has lessons for you to learn, and you often don't get through it until after your first Saturn Return (which occurs between 28-32). If your natal Saturn is in Taurus or the 2nd house, or is conjunct, square, or opposite your natal Venus, Ceres, or 2nd house ruler, that can show lessons regarding money. You may have experienced major money challenges in your early life, and likely have to work on issues around scarcity. This can get brought to your attention under transits when any of these positions are being highlighted by the transit (moving) planets, and this can provide an opportunity to work through some of the spiritual blocks. With astrology, you can see how different planets and bodies influence money in your life. Neptune is a planet that can be good or bad, depending on what it's doing for you personally. Neptune in Astrology
Neptune is a slow-moving outer planet. It spends many years in one sign, so it's considered a generational planet since most of a generation have it in the same sign.
Neptune rules our intuition, imagination, compassion, empathy, spiritual selves, and boundaries. In transit, the energy of Neptune is to dissolve, and it can be foggy and obscure our vision. Money Positions
The 2nd house is the house of money, showing your own money and how you make and. Venus and Ceres connect with this house, so they are the money planets.
The 8th house also rules other people's money, so any money involving others (joint finances, business finances, taxes, loans, debts, etc.) are the domain of the 8th house Neptune & Money
Natal Neptune in the 2nd house can show you might make money through Neptune, so working on spirituality or the arts, or helping others or in the medical field. You can have great money instincts when you know how to listen to them.
But, Neptune is the foggy planet, so you often may feel like you don't have all of the information you need when you make financial decisions. That makes honing your intuition important for your financial stability. On the upside, you can be highly charitable, and use your money to help others. On the downside, you may be more likely to feel like you don't ever have enough until your intuition is honed. Neptune in aspect to your natal Venus or Ceres can help or challenge you financially. Sextile or trine, the beneficial aspects, and your intuition can be strong and you feel less fogginess in your decision-making. Square or opposite, the challenging aspects, and you may feel you have to work a lot harder to keep your handle on money and stay more grounded otherwise you make bad financial decisions. Neptune conjunct your natal Venus or Ceres, or your 2nd house ruler, can show Neptune is hugely influential in your finances. Making money in a Neptune way is likely the way to go for you, while also strengthening intuition and holding firm to boundaries. Neptune in the 8th house or aspecting your natal Pluto can show this impacting the money you have with other people. You may need to work harder at maintaining proper boundaries with them, otherwise you may take over them financially or they may take over you. The line can blur very easily. Boundaries in general can be difficult to maintain with Neptune in the 2nd or 8th houses, aspecting your natal Venus or Ceres, or aspecting your natal 2nd house ruler (especially conjunct, square, opposite). It's easier for you to get taken advantage of, and you need to learn how to say no to people (even family). Transit (moving) Neptune in your natal 2nd or 8th houses or aspecting your natal Venus, Ceres, or 2nd house ruler can put this energy in play, but only temporarily. So what astrology can show you may be someone who is a workaholic? What is a natal chart?
A natal chart is a snapshot of all of the planets, houses, and other bodies in the Zodiac at the moment you were born from the location you were born at. Your natal chart shows your life and personality. It's the blueprint for who you are in astrology.
The 6th House of Work & 10th House of Career
There are 12 houses in astrology, each ruling a different part of your life and personality, and the 6th house rules work while the 10th house rules career. The 6th house shows the work environment you need and how you approach work, while the 10th house shows the goals you strive to achieve and what you aspire to be.
So what astrology shows being a workaholic?
First, Venus conjunct (aligned with) Mars in the 6th house or 10th house often shows someone who loves work a LOT. In the 6th house, you're more likely to be someone who needs to keep busy, and that's why you work so much. You need to have something to do at all times. Mars gives lots of energy for it, and Venus makes you enjoy it.
In the 10th house, Venus conjunct Mars can make you highly ambitious and super focused on your goals. Sometimes this position can be a little tragically ambitious since it is so ambitious (but that'll usually be when it's making hard aspects to the chart, one of the planets is anaretic, or Saturn or Pluto are too dominant in your natal chart rather than Venus conjunct Mars in the 10th house by itself). You're someone who needs to have a career that you love, and can throw yourself fully into it. Venus conjunct Mars in Virgo or Capricorn can also show workaholism, with Virgo connecting to the 6th house (so you love work) and Capricorn connecting to the 10th house (so you're super ambitious). Venus conjunct Mars in Scorpio can also bring out workaholism sometimes, usually when you have planets in the 6th or 10th houses or a strong Saturn. The ruler of Scorpio, Pluto, is highly passionate, so Pluto in the 6th or 10th houses or conjunct the 6th or 10th house ruler may also show someone who is a workaholic. With Pluto, you do have to be careful of veering into the tragic potential though, since Pluto can be a little too obsessive. The anaretic degree, particularly of the Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Ascendant, Midheaven, or 10th house ruler or 10th house planet, can also show being a workaholic. The anaretic degree is 29 degrees of any sign. Any natal planets at 29 degrees get super heightened energy in your natal chart, and they can be points of potential greatness. The problem is most people downplay their anaretic body, so this one isn't as common. But the few who overplay it may show it as being a workaholic.
