Some people find their passion as children, and always know the career they want to have when they get older. Some find it as adults - and some never do! Astrology can be used to show almost anything, so what can show being a career late bloomer? Saturn, the Ultimate Late Bloomer
Saturn is the late bloomer planet, and usually makes you wait before you can get anything related to Saturn. This can be shown with the areas of life ruled by the sign and house your natal Saturn resides, as well as with planets conjunct or in the same sign as your natal Saturn.
Saturn usually wants you to learn your lessons first before you can get it. This means you have obstacles to overcome, old issues to work through, and lessons to learn. Saturn might make you a career late bloomer if it's: - in the 2nd house (of money), 6th house (of work), or 10th house (of career) - in Taurus (ruling money), in Virgo (ruling work), or in Capricorn (ruling career) - closely aspecting your natal 2nd house ruler, natal 6th house ruler, or natal 10th house ruler - in the same sign as your natal 2nd, 6th, or 10th house rulers Saturn is also a little complicated for career since Saturn is the planetary ruler of career, so if you just have a challenged Saturn, this may slow you down career-wise. Your natal Saturn is challenged if it's anaretic (at 29 degrees), at a critical degree, is a singleton (only planet in an element, quality, or house type), is the apex planet of a t-square, is conjunct an angle, is part of a stellium, or is intercepted. Since Saturn wants us to learn before we get whatever it is we want associated with it, you usually don't get whatever it is Saturn is impacting until you've had your first Saturn Return (when Saturn returns to the same exact position it was at when you were born). This happens between 28-32. This isn't that big of a deal though since that's probably the average age people start getting serious about their career (fitting since Saturn rules career). The Uncomfortable North Node
The North Node is a part of the Lunar Nodes, which are the points in the Moon's orbit where the Moon crosses the ecliptic. There's a North Node and a South Node that exactly oppose one another. The South Node is what you've already learned/are comfortable with/your past or early life, while the North Node is your potential, purpose, and what you need to grow into.
The North Node is unfamiliar and uncomfortable, so we usually gravitate to the South Node until we learn how to use the North Node. This tends to come with age and maturity. This means your North Node can make you a career late bloomer if it's: - in Taurus (ruler of money), Virgo (ruler of work), or Capricorn (ruler of career) - in the 2nd house (of money), 6th house (of work), or 10th house (of career) - in the same sign as your natal Saturn (planet of career), 2nd house ruler, 6th house ruler, or 10th house ruler There may be blocks you need to work through, and this can be seen through any planets square (3 signs away) your Lunar Nodes. Saturn, a planet in Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, or the 23nd, 6th, or 10th houses, or the 2nd, 6th, or 10th house ruler square your Lunar Nodes may also show issues with your career coming later. Your North Node is your potential and path in life, so it's where you'll find your ultimate life satisfaction and happiness. So while you may be a late bloomer with career, it does mean that once you figure it out, you're living your potential! Because the North Node is your potential, it's also directly tied to your career and ambitions, so like with Saturn, if your Lunar Nodes are challenged in general, you may be a career late bloomer. Your Lunar Nodes are challenged if they are anaretic (at 29 degrees), at a critical degree, intercepted, and potentially conjunct any angles (this isn't necessarily challenged, but the energy is higher and may be difficult to control). Challenged 2nd, 6th, and 10th House Rulers and Cusps
You may also be a career late bloomer if you have:
- your 2nd, 6th, or 10th house rulers anaretic, critical, singleton, retrograde (mainly if they're Mercury, Venus, or Mars), or intercepted - your 2nd, 6th, or 10th house cusps anaretic, critical, or conjunct Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto So, these are just some examples - there can be more! And, these examples may not actually show being a career late bloomer. They could show you do have a career or do know what you want, but struggle with it at times, have difficulty getting the recognition you deserve, and progress may be slow.
