​The water signs in astrology are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. This trio of signs are governed by the element of water, which is an important energy in their lives and personalities. Water signs tend to be emotional, intuitive, and nurturing; they can also be overly sensitive, subjective, and irrational.

In love, the water signs in astrology bring this emotional energy with them, and they're not usually too happy with just dating because of this. Pisces can be the most sensitive of the trio, and needs some healthy boundaries so they don't get lost in relationships. Cancer can be super nurturing of those they love, cheerleading you through every triumph. Scorpio can take the longest to fall, but falls the hardest and strongest, loyal to a fault at times.

The water signs in astrology want and need relationships. They need people in their lives who help soothe them emotionally and make them feel safe. When they have that, they can stick by you no matter what. When they don't feel safe, they tend to go off of the rails.

When it comes to passion, the water signs can be full of it, but it's channeled through their emotions. If they don't feel the emotional connection with you, then they won't get fully revved up. Pisces can get the most invested and lose themselves with others, however they can also be the most prone to cheating since they can get lost in the imagination of it all. But they'll also be the most likely to forgive you of it.

​Cancer can shut themselves off from others when they've had their heart broken, and can keep themselves alone for a long time. Scorpio can have it the hardest given their loyalty, but it may come out as rage and hatred toward you.
