The earth signs in astrology are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. This trio of signs are governed by the element of earth, which is a dominant energy in their lives and personalities. Earth signs tend to be practical, grounded, focused, and hard-working; they can also be stubborn, pessimistic, and avoid change.

In love, the earth signs in astrology bring this practical earthy energy with them, and tend to be the ones that are more willing the commit. Aimless dating usually doesn't fit these signs too well, and they want to find someone compatible, but won't rush too fast, willing to take their time.

Taurus can take the longest, needing some certainty first, while Virgo usually wants you to make the first move, and Capricorn tends to have a list of what they want in someone. 

In spite of often taking longer to move into a relationship, the earth signs in astrology can be quicker to commit. They're not so scared of that idea, and feel it can be a practical thing to do. They don't care too much for anything too wild, so committing helps them to secure their lives.

As a fixed sign, Taurus can be the most loyal - stubbornly so sometimes! Virgo needs some assurance that you reciprocate and will show them the same kind of loyalty, otherwise they may become anxious (and the neurotic Virgo comes in!). Capricorn just may need to work on balancing their dedication to their endeavors with their dedication to you.

When it comes to romance, the earth signs in astrology tend to opt for more subtle gestures, and usually don't go for anything too flashy. Taurus and Virgo in particular may find that to be too much. Capricorn may go for it more, but if it's too over the top, they may think you're overcompensating for something. The little things can go a long way with the earth signs.

When it comes to passion, the earth signs are usually the ones that are difficult to get going, but once they do, they can be surprisingly passionate. You may need to instigate things and it may take a little time to get them interested, but block out some time when you get them going! Don't mistake them not jumping into physical intimacy quickly as them not being interested in you though. They just need more time.

Coming out of a relationship, the earth signs in astrology can have a hard time. Because they can be so loyal, they may not let go quickly. They just won't show it too much on the outside since they're not the biggest fans of outward emotional displays, so they may seem like they don't care on the outside, but they're a total mess inside.

​Taurus may be more obvious because rage may come out! Virgo may seem more anxious, while Capricorn tries to play it as cool as possible, wanting to give the appearance of not caring when they actually do.

If you end up with an earth sign in love, this can be someone who helps you feel you're on more solid ground in life, who you generally don't have to worry about straying, and who can be a rock for you emotionally.
