Transit, or moving, Uranus toured air sign Aquarius from April 1995 to late 2003, roughly. Uranus is an outer planet, along with Neptune and Pluto, and the outer planets are considered generational planets because large swaths of a generation have them in one sign. Each of these three take their time moving through the Zodiac, so large groups of people born in a range of years are bunched together. Transit Uranus in Aquarius coincides with the first half of Generation Z. This generation is said to go from 1995-97, up to 2010-12. Millennials, the previous generation, are tied to Pluto at home in Scorpio, which ended in 1995, so I suspect the real start for Gen Z is 1995. Alphas, the next generation, are tied to Neptune at home in Pisces, which began in 2011, so I suspect the real end for Gen Z is 2011, and this generation roughly goes from 1995 to 2011. But, only the first half of Gen Z have Uranus at home in Uranus, the 1995 to 2003 babies. The 2004 to 2011 babies don't have a planet at home, so I wonder if another micro generation will pop up. Even if it doesn't, Gen Z is likely to seem kind of split down the middle, with the first half to have one kind of personality, outlook, and attitude, and the second half being distinctly different. As transit Pluto is now moving into Aquarius, it's conjuncting (aligning) with Uranus in Aquarius, so those early Zoomers are being activated with Pluto in Aquarius. They will come to power over the next decade. But, this is challenging for them because while Pluto and Uranus are both comfortable with change, Uranus is more superficial about it at times, while Pluto demands depth. So, this group will likely face challenges first that force them to dig deeper in order to create the changes they're capable of. The Defining Moment for the Uranus in Aquarius Generation
I think we're going to end up feeling that the defining moment for this generation was the COVID-19 pandemic. Those with Uranus in Aquarius were anywhere from 16 to 25 in 2020, so young adults who were only just embarking on the world. And that world came to a grinding halt, and ideas around work goals, life priorities, and what it all means came crashing down on them, so they were asking poignant questions at very young ages.
While illness is more of a Neptune thing, Uranus and Aquarius are rulers of science and technology. That became super elevated with the pandemic. I won't be surprised if we end up seeing a larger percentage than usual of this group becoming scientists, researchers, drug developers, etc. The pandemic also brought with it major failings of governments and institutions, and the Uranus in Aquarius generation has well-earned distrust of those in power. This is something that aligns them with the Pluto in Scorpio generation, though Uranus in Aquarius is more of the rebel instead of the destroyer. Uranus in Aquarius isn't a fan of rules to begin with, so giving it a reason to distrust is a bad move by those in power. Here in the U.S., at the same time, we had dysfunction and corruption, propaganda and disinformation, resulting in January 6th. This just added more fuel to the distrustful fire for Uranus in Aquarius. Uranus/Aquarius is a very logical thinker. It's highly objective, and wants to improve life for the masses as a whole. It doesn't have a lot of patience for irrational thinking or behavior. Gun Reform & the Uranus in Aquarius Generation
Being in the U.S., I had to point out how much this group is tied to advocacy for gun reform. School shootings became a very normal, regular occurrence for them, and that was not acceptable to them, so as soon as they were old enough, they started taking the microphone for this issue. The Parkland shooting was probably the trigger event as Sandy Hook occurred when they were too young.
The Uranus in Aquarius kids took charge fast, and weren't afraid of how young they were to be doing so. They just knew something had to change, and they continue to push for it. The U.S. has natal Moon in Aquarius, and notably most of our presidents have have Aquarius in the Triad or a strong natal Uranus. I think this generation will end up being quite influential politically with their Uranus in Aquarius linking up with the USA's Aquarius Moon. The Hive Mind: The Downside of the Uranus in Aquarius Generation
Uranus/Aquarius rules the masses, groups, the collective, and like-minded individuals, which makes this group focus a lot on the impact on others. The bad side to this is the risk of falling into the hive mind, and while this group can rebel and question the rules, it may also be more susceptible to cults, propaganda, and group think.
Convincing them they're wrong can be a massive undertaking, and they may have all the facts they think are right and won't accept otherwise. They'll need to learn to assess information critically, especially considering Uranus and Aquarius rule the internet, and this is the primary way they get information. While they distrust those in power, they have too much misguided trust in the internet and social media. This means they give too much power and sway to social media influencers, as well as tech billionaires. It'll burn them at some point, but not before they've emptied their wallets and drained their bank accounts dry, so it'd be much wiser for them to proactively detach from worshipping tech. Uranus in Aquarius is detached from emotion, so it can be a challenge to connect beyond the superficial at times, and beyond the screen. This is part of the reason why they prefer online interaction to real life interaction. Then when they do feel something, they become vulnerable to being manipulated by whoever and whatever caused the emotional response. Fostering a connection to emotion is very important for this group, otherwise they may lack real intimacy and become easy prey. Collective Change: The Purpose of the Uranus in Aquarius Generation
Uranus is the planet of change. Uranus/Aquarius is comfortable with pushing boundaries, with venturing outside of comfort zones, with questioning what has always been, and with shaking up the status quo.
The main purpose of the Uranus in Aquarius generation is to create change on a mass scale. This won't be small change. This is wide-reaching, expansive, and broad. They push us all into the unconventional, and embrace the eccentric, the bizarre, and the strange. They see the glory and wonder in this, and understand that this is the only way to venture into the future. The Uranus in Aquarius generation launches the future, which just so happens to be ruled by Uranus/Aquarius. They see things very long-term, and know that what is set up now can bring results decades and generations into the future. They see beyond the present moment, and connect with the hopes and dreams of the future. I think this group is going to be incredibly politically engaged across the world; they also have Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, in Sagittarius, who rules beliefs. Governments and politicians are ruled by Capricorn/Saturn, but political [and religious] beliefs are ruled by Sagittarius. They shape the new thinking and take control of the narrative. Saturn moved into Aquarius in late 2020, as the pandemic was still at its height. Saturn depressed their energy, and limited their movement as a whole. Saturn is in Pisces now, and Pluto is moving into Aquarius in its place. Pluto brings them more power, more control, and more ability to make the change they seek. The Pluto in Scorpio generation laid the groundwork, but the Uranus in Aquarius generation will build something new on top. Pluto starts to put them in charge now, and the next decade is theirs.
