As you follow astrology and get into predictive astrology, one thing you can learn is which transit aspects are most difficult. This is helpful because you can prepare for them, and work to use them wisely and lessen the damage. That's always a good thing! What is an aspect?
An aspect in astrology is when two planets or bodies are at certain distances from one another in the Zodiac. There are 360 degrees in the Zodiac, 30 degrees per sign, and some of these distances are singled out as aspects.
There are major aspects and minor aspects; I find minor aspects to be important when analyzing natal charts, but not so much with predictive astrology. The major aspects are king! There are 5 major aspects: - conjunction (0 degrees apart) - sextile (60 degrees apart) - square (90 degrees apart) - trine (120 degrees apart) - opposition (180 degrees apart) You can also check out the article covering the most positive transit aspects. So, what are the most difficult transit aspects?
The most difficult aspects are usually hard aspects (conjunction, square, opposition) by Pluto, Uranus, or Saturn to your Sun, Moon, Mars, or 1st house cusp. The hard aspects bring difficult energy, and these planets are more difficult with hard aspects because Pluto can be the destroyer, Uranus can be chaos, and Saturn can be suffocating.
If you see you’ll have one of these aspects by Pluto, know that you’ll need to make deep transformations. You’ll need to focus on dark subjects, things you hide deep inside of yourself and don’t want to face, and take a cold, hard look in the mirror. Pluto will not let you get away with anything. Pluto will find you and will destroy you. Avoid that by doing the work. Tear something down in your life that is destructive, unhealthy, unproductive, or that just makes you unhappy. Build something wonderful, beautiful, special, and inspiring in its place. Stop running from the inner demons and look them straight in the eye until they blink first. And don’t tell yourself not to be afraid - be afraid and take action anyway. Pluto can be represented by the phoenix rising from the ashes, so know that you can rise again from any failure. You may want to check out the article: Pluto is Power, Passion, Dark & Deep If you’ll see one of these aspects by Uranus, this can be a lesson about change. It tends to go one way or the other - you experience massive changes that make your life feel unstable and you don’t think you can handle, or all you want to do is rip your life to shreds but are stuck in a bottomless beige rut. If you experience the massive changes and instability, you’ll likely feel like you can’t handle it, you’re not ready, you’re not strong enough, this isn’t the right time, this isn’t the right way. But the reality is, this is happening because it needs to happen for some reason. Your life needs to be shaken up, you need to be shaken up. It offers an opportunity for you to see things you wouldn’t have seen otherwise, to open up your mind and heart, and to create something in your life that may be unexpected but perfectly perfect for you. If you experience the stuckness where you desperately want change but can’t budge an inch, you’re likely going to feel impulsive, irrational, and insecure. You may jump into things without thinking and do things that aren’t right, so you have to get a grip on yourself. More discipline is required of you, no matter how hard that may be. Think about the changes you want to make and research, craft plans, gather information, and get yourself as prepared as possible. Then when the opportunity comes, you won’t miss it. Or you could create the opportunity yourself, but instead of being impulsive about it, you’re smart and know what you’re doing. If you see one of these aspects by Saturn, first know that Saturn's influence doesn’t last as long as Pluto or Uranus, so you don’t have to endure it as long. With Saturn, you can feel like the color has been sucked out of your life, you have too much on your shoulders and feel overwhelmed, you’re completely insecure and in over your head, and you’re terrified of the next step. You can be punished for everything you’ve been doing wrong, whether on purpose or not, it doesn’t matter to Saturn. Saturn requires two things: learn your lessons and do the right thing. So learn your lessons and do the right thing. Learn your lessons means, focus on what you’ve been doing wrong and learn from it. Do the right thing means, be responsible, ethical, considerate, smart. You’ll have a lot more work to do with Saturn - double, triple, maybe one-hundred times more - so you have to stick with it when you feel like giving up. The great thing about Saturn is that because you work so hard for it, the rewards are so much sweeter. And, because Saturn is Mr. Stability, they also usually last a long time.
