There are tens of thousands of asteroids in astrology, and many link to something specific. Most have a specific name, but the one we’re focusing on in this article has a funky non-name: 1992 QB1.
Update years later: The asteroid has a name! Albion, so we’ll cover that too.
Asteroid 1992 QB1 in Astrology
There's no mythology associated with asteroid 1992 QB1, which was discovered in - duh - 1992! In this article by Eric Francis, he postulated that since this asteroid has no name, it's free of any baggage that comes along with mythology. This asteroid is supposed to show where we can get beyond the craziness in a way that isn't extreme or upsetting, but rather easy, guiding right into it.
In your natal chart, 1992 QB1 can show where you have an easy time making things work. Things seem to fall into place without you having to do the struggle thing. No struggle love! (at least not if in the 5th or 7th houses, anyway) This is found in the areas of life ruled by the house in your natal chart 1992 QB1 resides, and the sign it’s in.
Beneficial aspects (sextiles and trines) to the other natal planets can bring easy energy to whatever that planet rules. Conjunctions can show this is something you can have an almost effortless time with, but you have to embrace that instead of resisting.
Challenging aspects (squares and oppositions) can make it a little harder, and you may have too easy of a time and let things slide that you shouldn’t, or you fight too much and don’t let the ease come in.
A strong natal 1992 QB1 can show you’re someone who has an easy time in life (or at least easier than most). You don’t need to fight, and everything can work out. You don’t need the drama.
In transit, the areas of life ruled by the house in your natal chart transit 1992 QB1 is currently touring get some of that easy energy. Don’t fight, just let it flow. Sextiles and trines to your natal planets by transit 1992 QB1 make it even easier with whatever that planet rules, while squares and oppositions might make you fight harder when you really just need to let go.
Conjunctions by transit 1992 QB1 to your natal planets can make it super important for you to have an effortless approach to whatever that planet rules. No need to push!
Transit aspects to your natal 1992 QB1 can have the same impact, and you can find it easy to let things fall into place, or you keep fighting and need to pull back.
1992 QB1 takes even longer to go through the Zodiac than Pluto does, so you won’t experience a return or any significant progressions with it (that is, until humans are living at least a few hundred years!).
Update: Asteroid 1992 QB1 is now Asteroid Albion
In 2018, 4 years after this post was originally published, the nameless asteroid got named: Albion. This is named after the mythology of William Blake, and Albion was a man who fell and was split into four (strength, reason, love, imagination).
Albion is said to be linked to your beliefs, what you take a stand with, and trials you go through. This is super similar to Black Moon Lilith, but Albion is said to be more of a bridge with others (whereas Lilith is more self-focused).
A strong natal Albion would show you being someone who takes a stand for something not just for yourself, and this can be focused on the areas of life ruled by the natal house and sign Albion resides, and whether this is challenging or easy can be shown via aspects to the natal planets.
I admit, this Albion seems to make more sense for me personally; I have Albion right on my Moon, and that hasn't been a source of ease in my life! (haha)
