March 2023 comes with a full moon in productive, get-things-done Virgo, and a new moon in energetic Aries, which sets off a LOT of energy. How do they impact us? What is a New Moon?
A new moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact same position in the Zodiac (called a conjunction). New moons are related to beginnings, have high energy, and are enthusiastic.
What is a Full Moon?
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). Full moons are related to endings, culminations, and are emotional energy.
Full Moon in Virgo: March 7th 2023 (8:41M ET/5:41AM PT)
Virgo is the sign of work, and full moons are times of endings, so put them together and Virgo full moons are great times for getting projects, tasks, and chores done. All of the work we've been avoiding, we can get to now, and it's a great time to clear out your list of things to do and shrink it way down.
With Virgo ruling work, we can become more invested in the work that we're passionate about, and can make more progress. If we don't enjoy the work we're doing daily, or outright hate it, then we can hate it more and have more difficulties. We need to make sure we're doing something each day that we enjoy in a healthy way. Virgo is the ruler of health and stress, and Virgo full moons are notorious for how stressful they can make us feel. If there's any frustrations you're bottling up, anything annoying you that you've tried to ignore, that can blow up. If stress has been building, that can explode. This can create more anxiety, and this can lead to more physical health issues, which are usually manifestations of something emotional under Virgo full moons. Try to take care of yourself, and work on routine maintenance and checkups (which Virgo rules). This full moon is trine (four signs away) transit (moving) Uranus in Taurus, which is a beneficial aspect. Uranus is the planet of change and the unconventional, so this aspect helps push us outside of our comfort zones a little bit to find solutions that may be different from what we'd normally attempt. This can help us get out of jams more easily, and we can find new ways of being more productive and taking care of the little things. The full moon occurs at 16 degrees 40 minutes Virgo. Aspects to the full moon are: Conjunction: 14 degrees 40 minutes - 18 degrees 40 minutes Virgo Sextile: 14 degrees 40 minutes - 18 degrees 40 minutes Cancer or Scorpio Square: 14 degrees 40 minutes - 18 degrees 40 minutesGemini or Sagittarius Trine: 14 degrees 40 minutes - 18 degrees 40 minutes Taurus or Capricorn Opposition: 14 degrees 40 minutes - 18 degrees 40 minutes Pisces New Moon in Aries: March 21st 2023 (1:23PM ET/10:23AM PT)
The Aries new moon is a fabulous time for new beginnings. Aries is the very first Zodiac sign, which makes it associated with new beginnings, and new moons are times of new beginnings, so put them together, and it's a major time for a new start. Focus on a new project, opportunity, or venture you want to get going with, and take the initiative to make it happen. You can make use of energy and enthusiasm, and this can work to your advantage.
This new moon occurs at 0 degrees Aries, which is the 0 degrees Aries Point, a special position in astrology. It's a time of super high energy, and just adds to this fabulous new beginning energy we have. We're extra motivated to take action, and to make our ideas, opportunities, and dreams something tangible, something we can hold in our hands, something we can see with our own eyes. The internal craves to become external now, and we can work on bringing this out. This new moon is the first new moon of two consecutive new moons in Aries, and the next new moon is a solar eclipse in Aries on April 20th! Usually, two new moons in a row in the same sign mean that they link together, and we can get started with the energy with the first new moon (which is this one), and make progress, see results, finalize, or culminate with the second new moon (which is the solar eclipse). The solar eclipse is triggered in May, so this may actually not finish with the solar eclipse, but keep going for the next 2 months. So, whatever you embark on now, whatever new beginning you start, it's one that you'll likely be hyper focused on and excited about for the next 6-8 weeks! The new moon is opposite transit (moving) Ceres, which is retrograde (appearing to move backward) in Libra, and gearing up to go back to Virgo on March 22nd. Ceres is a dwarf planet ruling nourishment and support, and this has been thrown off since it turned retrograde on February 3rd. In Libra, this has impacted relationships and dealings with others, and we've had to tackle relationship issues and confront relationship baggage. This new moon can shine a spotlight on anything that is left that we haven't worked on thus far in the retrograde before Ceres leaves Libra. There may be a major, important development in the world regarding an alliance, partnership, resource, or money around this time as well. Make sure to mind your money! The new moon occurs at 0 degree 50 minutes Aries. The aspects to the new moon are: Conjunction: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 2 degrees 50 minutes Aries Sextile: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 2 degrees 50 minutes Gemini or Aquarius Square: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 2 degrees 50 minutes Cancer or Capricorn Trine: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 2 degrees 50 minutes Leo or Sagittarius Opposition: 0 degrees 0 minutes - 2 degrees 50 minutes Libra Suggested Reading: The New & Full Moons page for general interpretations by house and aspect Comments are closed.
