2020 came with conjunctions with Pluto and both Jupiter and Saturn. This was a big theme for 2020. For 2021, we'll have Jupiter and Saturn square Uranus as the big aspect of the year. What does Jupiter square Uranus mean? Let's explore! Jupiter in Astrology
In astrology, Jupiter is the planet of expansion. It expands on both the good and the bad. It's fairly neutral like that. But Jupiter is an optimistic planet, so it does want things to turn around, and will work with you when you try to make it a little easier. The problem with Jupiter is we can get lazy, lackadaisical, and motivation can be difficult to harness.
Uranus in Astrology
In astrology, Uranus is the planet of change. Uranus wants to move us forward toward the future, and prompts change to do that. Uranus understands that we need to change in order to grow, so that's the job of Uranus. But we all know how resistant many of us are to change, and that can annoy Uranus and make things more difficult.
Jupiter Square Uranus Astrology
In the natal chart, Jupiter square Uranus can show you're someone who is a rule breaker, a rebel by nature, someone who pushes against the norms and feels comfortable doing so. Your own beliefs may be a little out there, a little future-minded, and this can make it a little challenging to be understood by others who haven't caught up with you yet. You're highly independent, so you probably don't need their understanding anyway, but you may need to be more practical sometimes.
In aspect to your natal chart, transit (moving) Jupiter square your natal Uranus can make you want to make big changes, but you may have trouble seeing all sides of it, only focusing on the positives and not being realistic. It can be good for planned changes and change you've already researched. Transit Uranus square your natal Jupiter can make you desperate for freedom, independence, and change. You can be more impulsive, and need to get control over that so you don't rush into anything you shouldn't. But it can be a good time to break out of a rut and bring fresh air to your life. In transit, Jupiter square Uranus is a time to change. The way things have been can become intolerable, and we're desperate to change that. This can be a good thing if we're not impulsive and impatient, and thinking it through. That's sort of the big rub, because we don't want to pause to think about it - we just want to do it! There can be suuuper rebellious energy (and perhaps actual rebellion), and any way we've been boxed in or held back from being our true selves, we can rage against. We're clearly much more open to change, so it's a good time to do it, but we have to be smart. Time to turn the page, yes, but burn the whole book? Uh, maybe not! Jupiter-Uranus Square of 2021
The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction of 2020 went exact 3 times, but the Jupiter-Uranus square of 2021 only goes exact once in a few days, on January 17th with both at 6 degrees, Jupiter in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. It's in orb (in effect) January 9th - 26th.
If you have any bodies in your natal chart at 6 degrees, it'll get hit by this square directly (and you'll likely feel it if you have anything between 4 and 8 degrees, it'll just be strongest at 6 degrees). The aspects are if your planet is in the sign of: Aries - sextile (positive) Jupiter and semisextile (positive) Uranus Taurus - square Jupiter and conjunct (amplifying) Uranus Gemini - trine (positive) Jupiter and semisextile (positive) Uranus Cancer - quincunx (challenging) Jupiter and sextile (positive) Uranus Leo - opposite (challenging) Jupiter and square Uranus Virgo - quincunx Jupiter and trine Uranus Libra - trine Jupiter and quincunx Uranus Scorpio - square Jupiter and opposite Uranus Sagittarius - sextile Jupiter and quincunx Uranus Capricorn - semisextile Jupiter and trine Uranus Aquarius - conjunct Jupiter and square Uranus Pisces - semisextile Jupiter and sextile Uranus Bodies in Aries, Gemini, Capricorn, and Pisces have the best energy; bodies in Leo and Scorpio have the most challenging. No matter what though, anything at 6 degrees gets heightened, regardless of the actual aspect, and whatever that planet or body rules in your natal chart is elevated in your life with this aspect. So pay close attention to it, and use it properly! Suggested Reading: The Transit Jupiter & Transit Uranus pages for general interpretations Comments are closed.
