Jupiter is gearing up to enter a new sign, fire sign Leo, on July 16th, 2014 at 6:30AM ET. It'll remain in Leo until August 11th, 2015 at 7:11AM ET when it enters earth sign Virgo. Jupiter is naturally ruled by Sagittarius, a fellow fire sign, so it can do well in Leo. The last time Jupiter was in Leo was in 2002-2003. When Jupiter enters Leo, we’ll be just exiting a period I call a retrograde train, where we have one retrograde after another of Mercury, Venus, and Mars for several months. A planet is called retrograde when it appears to be moving backward, and things can get thrown off. In December 2013, Venus turned retrograde, and then we had a Mercury retrograde, then Mars, and then Mercury again. After 7+ months of retrogrades, we could use some nice energy - enter Jupiter! Leo is a happy sign that doesn’t want to take too much too seriously, like all of the fire signs. Leo rules love, the flirty, first-time kind of love, the fluttery feeling you get when you first start seeing someone. We could all be a lot more focused on love, and increasing the love we have in our lives and giving love to others. This will especially be the case when Venus is in Leo August 12th - September 5th 2014 and June 5th - July 8th 2015. Actually, Venus will retrograde again next year, and most of that retrograde will occur in Leo. There will be an overlap with Jupiter in Leo and Venus retrograde in Leo July 31st - August 11th 2015, and both will be near the end of Leo, amping up the energy. We could see a LOT of couples getting back together during that period. Love with Leo usually isn’t serious though, and we take a more casual approach. We want to date a lot without dedicating ourselves to anyone seriously, are total flirts, and enjoy getting attention from romantic interests. We love romance, and we love it big, straight out of the movies. Dull, traditional romantic gestures won’t cut it. Leo rules our hobbies, the things we do for fun when we have time off and want to enjoy ourselves. We can focus more on having time off specifically to have fun, and aren’t such workaholics. We take more vacations (so this can be a good period for you if you’re in the travel industry), and take more time off of work (so not a good time for productivity). Leo also rules children, so we try to give them more attention, try to get along better with them, and try to improve their lives. We could see some kids make a mark on the world in some way. And more people can have children while Jupiter is in Leo, so we could see a surge in birth rates. With Leo ruling children, it doesn’t just mean actual children, it also means the inner child in each of us, so we want to bring out that kid in all of us and remind ourselves of what it’s like to play and enjoy life like a child. Other areas that Leo rules are the theater/film (so it’s a good time for the movie industry, and we could see one huge blockbuster after another), sports (athletes should do well), and creativity (good for creative types and artists). While Jupiter is in Leo, it’ll trine Uranus, who is currently in Aries. This will go exact on September 25th 2014, and we could see a stroke of luck that month. People seem lucky all around us, and the world seems to be in a much better mood. When Saturn enters Sagittarius in December, we’ll have Jupiter, Uranus, and Saturn in fire signs, making for some nice energy. Unfortunately, Saturn will retrograde back into Scorpio briefly in 2015, and when hitdoes, it’ll square Jupiter in Leo, exact on August 3rd, about one week before Jupiter leaves Leo. We could have difficulty balancing our positivity and caution, being optimistic to the point of delusion, or cautious to the point of pessimism and fear.
