July 2022 comes with a full moon in disciplined Capricorn and a new moon in creative Leo. What will they bring for us? What is a New Moon?
A new moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact same position in the Zodiac (called a conjunction). New moons are related to beginnings, have high energy, and are enthusiastic.
What is a Full Moon?
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). Full moons are related to endings, culminations, and are emotional energy.
Full Moon in Capricorn: July 13th 2022 (2:38PM ET/11:38AM PT)
Capricorn is the highest part of the Zodiac, so it corresponds to our goals, progress, and success. Full moons are culminations, the results of our work, so a Capricorn full moon means we can see the results of what we've done to make progress with our goals and achieve success. Some may hit new heights, hit their stride, get recognition, and feel you're on the right road. Others may experience setbacks, blocks, and have to change course.
We may have extra responsibilities with this full moon, and we have to work on managing this in a healthy way. It can be easy to take on too much, and then we get overwhelmed and break down. Or, it can be easy to avoid taking responsibilities seriously, and then things fall apart. We need to find that happy middle. We can focus on the direction we're going in and how we're going to get to where we ultimately want to be. This can be a good time to let go and release things that have been holding us back or stand in the way of our achievement, if possible. If not possible, we can work to find a way around, and to manage as best as we can. This full moon occurs at 21 degrees 21 minutes Capricorn. The aspects to this full moon are: Conjunction: 19 degrees 21 minutes - 23 degrees 21 minutes Capricorn Sextile: 19 degrees 21 minutes - 23 degrees 21 minutes Scorpio or Pisces Square: 19 degrees 21 minutes - 23 degrees 21 minutes Aries or Libra Trine: 19 degrees 21 minutes - 23 degrees 21 minutes Taurus or Virgo Opposition: 19 degrees 21 minutes - 23 degrees 21 minutes Cancer New Moon in Leo: July 28th 2022 (1:55PM ET/10:55AM PT)
Leo new moons are great times for fun, joy, and heartfelt connections. Leo is a sign that doesn't want to be serious, and this can be a nice break coming out of the Capricorn full moon. We can make time for our hobbies, for our loved ones, and to connect to our hearts. Have fun and make time for fun, because that's important too.
Leo is a creative sign, so we can work on new creative projects and ventures, and we can get attention for the creative work we do. We may infuse creativity into the mundane, and this can help us stay focused, otherwise focus may be completely lacking. This can be a good time for romance, and those who are single and make more time for playing the field and having fun without being too worried about outcomes, while those in a relationship can bring the spark back. The new moon is widely trine (positive aspect, 4 signs away) transit (moving) Jupiter in Aries as Jupiter turns retrograde (appears to move backward) on the same day, and is widely conjunct (aligned with) Ceres in Leo. Jupiter retrograde can slow down opportunities and give us a chance to focus on old baggage and karmic sludge that needs to be worked out, so we may use this Leo new moon to do that with issues around love. Any heart blocks can get tackled, and we can have an easier time doing that with the trine to Jupiter. The conjunction to Ceres can make us more nurturing and supportive, and we can be this way with others and with ourselves. We can take care of what our hearts need, and may be more affectionate, loyal, and generous. This new moon occurs at 5 degrees 39 minutes Leo. The aspects to this new moon are: Conjunction: 3 degrees 39 minutes - 7 degrees 39 minutes Leo Sextile: 3 degrees 39 minutes - 7 degrees 39 minutes Gemini or Libra Square: 3 degrees 39 minutes - 7 degrees 39 minutes Taurus or Scorpio Trine: 3 degrees 39 minutes - 7 degrees 39 minutes Aries or Sagittarius Opposition: 3 degrees 39 minutes - 7 degrees 39 minutes Aquarius Suggested Reading: The New & Full Moons page for general interpretations Comments are closed.
