Going into February soon! This month comes with a new moon in Aquarius and a full moon in Virgo. Let's review what to expect! What is a new moon?
A new moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact same position in the Zodiac (called a conjunction). New moons are related to beginnings, have high energy, and are enthusiastic.
What is a full moon?
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). Full moons are related to endings, culminations, and are emotional energy.
New Moon in Aquarius: February 11th 2021 (2:06PM ET/11:06AM PT)
The February new moon occurs in air sign Aquarius, and we can pursue opportunities to be more independent, to do things in new ways, to think outside of the box, and to make changes. It's all about change at this point in 2021, and we can feel motivated to take action with them. We just need to make sure we're smart about them!
We may want to connect with friends or expand our social circles, and we can pursue opportunities to do things with friends, in groups, or that further causes we believe in. We can be more idealistic and hopeful, and want to push for a better future. Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius with this new moon, but isn't actually conjunct (aligned with). So the new moon can bring some focus on the retrograde energy, but it may not be super strong. It can be helpful for second chances, and that can be strong energy around the new moon. What would you like another shot at? This may be focused on the areas of life ruled by the House the new moon and/or the Mercury retrograde occur in, and aspects made to your natal chart by either/both. The new moon occurs at 23 degrees 17 minutes Aquarius, The aspects to this new moon are: Conjunction: 21 degrees 17 minutes - 25 degrees 17 minutes Aquarius Sextile: 21 degrees 17 minutes - 25 degrees 17 minutes Aries or Sagittarius Square: 21 degrees 17 minutes - 25 degrees 17 minutes Taurus or Scorpio Trine: 21 degrees 17 minutes - 25 degrees 17 minutes Gemini or Libra Opposition: 21 degrees 17 minutes - 25 degrees 17 minutes Leo Full Moon in Virgo: February 27th 2021 (3:18AM ET/12:18AM PT)
The Virgo full moon helps us focus on what we need to get done, and we can be much more productive and efficient. We can get organized, make lists, and tackle all of the little things. This can help get us back on track as we come out of the Mercury retrograde and need to smooth things out.
Virgo rules work and daily life, so if what you do on a daily basis is what you love, you can get rewarded with opportunities. If what you do is something you hate, you may experience challenges and setbacks. Try to consistently do what you're passionate about in healthy, positive ways. Virgo also rules health, maintenance, and stress, and Virgo full moons can be fairly stressful, so try to have a healthy, positive outlet for stress management. If you're not feeling very good physically, this may be stress manifesting for you in a tangible way to get your attention. This full moon is trine (positive aspect, 4 signs away) transit (moving) Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is the natural ruler of Aquarius, so that change energy continues even with this full moon. We can feel more comfortable with the changes we're working on, and can finalize plans for change or finish changes we've already begun. We can work independently or in groups, and we can keep an eye on the future. The full moon occurs at 8 degrees 57 minutes Virgo.
