Our final eclipse for 2018 comes August 11th at 5:58AM ET in Leo. With this Leo solar eclipse, we may want to focus on love, what we love most in life, making time to do the things we love, and being with the people we love. We can connect to our hearts, and want to feel more joyful and be more playful. We can focus on the positives, and try to be more generous, and have greater warmth. We can crave more attention as well, and feel we can thrive in the spotlight. We want praise and we can feel great about ourselves when we’re being doted on. We can share our warm energy and be friendlier, more gregarious, and more sociable. We can be super creative, and can use creativity as an outlet for energy. Which we’ll likely need, because this eclipse actually has some super hard energy with it! This eclipse is conjunct (aligned with) Mercury, who is retrograde (appearing to move backward) in Leo. Oh boy! On top of which, the eclipse is square (hard aspect, three signs away) Jupiter in Scorpio, and quincunx (hard aspect, 5 signs away) Pluto in Capricorn. Talk about some hard energy! We’re going out with a bang on these eclipses for 2018. With the conjunction to retrograde Mercury, this can really ramp up the retrograde energy, and we can see some developments regarding the retrograde (could be something with a celeb, something with kids, something with love and relationships, something requiring generosity, something needing heart). It might feel like it hits us out of nowhere, and we can try to be positive and enthusiastic, but we’ve *really* got to try! Jupiter is expansive energy, so he may expand upon whatever this eclipse brings, for better or worse. He can also add in some laziness and indulgence and some desire to go to excess. Pluto might make us struggle more for power and control, wanting to dominate and go to extremes, and we likely need to be more flexible, make adjustments, and not be all, my-way-or-the-highway. With all of the fixed energy this midyear, we definitely need to be more adaptable and open, otherwise things get bad and stay bad because we’re being too stubborn to change it! This eclipse occurs at 18 degrees 41 minutes of Leo, so the aspects to this eclipse are: Conjunction: 13 degrees 41 minutes - 23 degrees 41 minutes Leo Semisextile: 16 degrees 41 minutes - 20 degrees 41 minutes Cancer or Virgo Sextile: 13 degrees 41 minutes - 23 degrees 41 minutes Gemini or Libra Square: 13 degrees 41 minutes - 23 degrees 41 minutes Taurus or Scorpio Trine: 13 degrees 41 minutes - 23 degrees 41 minutes Aries or Sagittarius Quincunx: 16 degrees 41 minutes - 20 degrees 41 minutes Capricorn or Pisces Opposition: 13 degrees 41 minutes - 23 degrees 41 minutes Aquarius Then we have a full moon in Pisces on August 26th at 7:56AM ET. Pisces brings in some compassionate, empathic energy, and we can work on being more understanding emotionally and spiritually. We can tend to soul needs, and we can connect with one another on a soul level. We can try to be sweeter with others, and take care of the most vulnerable. We can focus on our spiritual selves, connect to our intuition, and try to tone down the loud noise externally and listen in to the quiet, wise guide internally. Full moons are more emotional energy, and Pisces is an emotional water sign, so we can have some extra heightened emotions with this full moon. But we may want to keep more of what we’re dealing with to ourselves, not wanting to burden anyone else, and spending time being reflective and introspective. Pisces is the last sign in the Zodiac, and full moons are associated with endings, so this full moon may bring with it the end of something, perhaps something that has been frustrating us to no end over the last couple of months. This full moon is sextile (positive aspect, two signs away) transit Saturn in Capricorn and transit Uranus in Taurus, so we do get some nice energy here to focus on what we ultimately want, to see our path and our future, to regain some hope, and to take the long view. But this full moon also occurs the day before Mars retrograde ends, so we may be coming out of that retrograde feeling extra emotional. We need to be much kinder with one another. Gentle, gentle . . . The full moon occurs at 3 degrees 12 minutes of Pisces. The major aspects to this full moon are: Conjunction: 1 degree 12 minutes - 5 degrees 12 minutes Pisces Sextile: 1 degree 12 minutes - 5 degrees 12 minutes Taurus or Capricorn Square: 1 degree 12 minutes - 5 degrees 12 minutes Gemini or Sagittarius Trine: 1 degree 12 minutes - 5 degrees 12 minutes Cancer or Scorpio Opposition: 1 degree 12 minutes - 5 degrees 12 minutes Virgo Suggested Reading: The New & Full Moons page for general interpretations Comments are closed.
