August 2012 Full & New Moons: Full Moon in Aquarius, New Moon in Leo, & Full Moon in Pisces

A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism.  

August 1st 2012 Full Moon in Aquarius
A full moon occurs at 11:27PM ET at 10 degrees 14 minutes of Aquarius. In Aquarius, break out of your normal routine. We all may feel a little bored and restless with the things that never change. That could lead to an outburst or rebellion. To avoid it for yourself, do something different. Let yourself go where you'd never dare to go. We're more open at this time, and embrace originality, eccentricity, and individuality.

This full moon trines transit Jupiter, so we fell more optimistic as well. As full moons go, this one is a bit lighter given it's in an air sign and at an easy angle to Jupiter, the happy planet, in an air sign too. We may get to breathe some during this full moon in the middle of a Mercury retrograde. If you're an Aquarius Sun, Moon, or mid-Aquarius rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.

August 17th 2012 New Moon in Leo
A new moon occurs at 11:54AM ET at 25 degree 8 minutes of Leo. In Leo, we feel more dramatic, theatrical, and want everything to be on a grand scale. We're more generous, warm, and romantic. Take your sweetie out on a date and rekindle the flame. Spend some time with your kids. Let the kid at heart come out and play. Let yourself be goofy. This could be a good time for actors or politicians.

This new moon sextiles both transit Mars and Saturn, so our energy is high, we're able to focus on what we need to do and get it done. It's all good with this Moon. Perfect timing since we'll be done with the Mercury retrograde just a few days before, which occurs in this sign, and we're going to need some positive energy to make everything alright again. And Leos, rejoice! If you're a Leo Sun, Moon, or late Leo rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most.

August 31st 2012 Full Moon in Pisces
A full moon occurs at 9:58AM ET at 8 degrees 33 minutes of Pisces. The second full moon of the month of August, a blue moon. Howl at it and let yourself do something a little different. I always view blue moons like leap day and Friday the 13th, days where you get the chance to let out what's inside of you. In Pisces, we all may seem more sensitive during this full moon, both with ourselves and with others, especially if we see someone being victimized. We're more interested in our dreams, subconscious, illusions, and intuition.

This full moon sextiles transit Pluto, so we feel more powerful and in control as well. We're powerfully connected to your emotions, making us more intense than usual. If you're a Pisces Sun, Moon, or rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.
