Aries: You may benefit more from other people this month, and need other people to help open up new opportunities to you. You can focus more on your relationships in October, so you may dedicate less time to your professional goals, but projects and ventures that can be mutually beneficial can be good for you to pursue later in the month, and you can have the most opportunities this way, especially around the new moon on the 30th, so you can end the month open to a partner. Are you interested in using astrology in positive ways? Then make sure to track when you have positive transit aspects occurring! What are the most positive transit aspects in astrology?
Here’s a little list of what are usually the most positive transit aspects astrologically that you can experience:
Transit Jupiter conjunct, sextile, or trine your natal Sun or Moon Transit Jupiter in the 1st house or in your Sun or Moon sign Transit Uranus sextile or trine your natal Jupiter Transit Jupiter or transit Saturn conjunct the 10th house cusp Why are these the most positive aspects?
Most of these involve Jupiter, and that’s because Jupiter is the planet of opportunity, expansion, and luck.
When conjunct, sextile, or trine your natal Sun or Moon or in the 1st house, you get a big dose of that good energy on your side. You can take that energy and run with it in a big way. And you feel good, really good, about what you can do, and since Jupiter looks at the bright side and thinks big, so do you. Jupiter aspects to the Sun and Moon won’t last long (a few weeks), but you’ll have Jupiter in your 1st house for about a year when Jupiter is in your 1st house, so you can really do a lot then. Jupiter will also be in your Sun or Moon sign for about a year, and while the effect of that is strongest when conjunct your Sun or Moon, you can feel the impact of it the entire time hits in your Sun or Moon sign. Make sure to check out the article covering transit Jupiter aspecting your natal Sun and Moon for more. Like when Jupiter is in your 1st house, you can do a lot with Jupiter in your Sun or Moon sign, and you can find or create lots of opportunities for yourself. Transit Uranus sextile or trine your natal Jupiter is excellent because you get the feel-good, expansive energy of Jupiter pleasantly matched up with the sudden and unexpected energy of Uranus. Instead of chaos, you end up getting pleasant surprises and unexpected opportunities. You can take advantage of opportunities on a whim and make the best of them, or you can create unexpected opportunities for yourself. You can explore, expand, and experience life in new ways that open you up and helps you embrace your individuality and express your truest self. This aspect lasts for months at a time over the span of 1-2 years and can be a great period for positive new developments. Transit Jupiter and transit Saturn conjunct the 10th house cusp comes with a caveat: You need to have put in years of hard and smart work, done things right, and been responsible. The 10th house cusp is the highest point in your chart, so when Jupiter or Saturn conjunct it, you can experience a high point in your life, but it only happens if you’ve done things right until that point. If you have, you can experience major rewards and progress and success. If you haven’t - or worse, you’ve been completely reckless, irresponsible, and plain old dumb - you can actually get kicked down further (falling from a high place). So this has the potential to go in the bad column, but the beneficial possibility has a massive upside. It’s really up to you to make it happen. Suggested Reading: Difficult Transit Aspects
There are times when we sleep amazingly well with great dreams, and times when we sleep horribly, have terrible nightmares, or can’t sleep a wink. Let's review what can impact your sleep astrologically!
P.S. Make sure you're signed up for the free monthly worksheet so you can stay on top of the planets every month (and on your sleep!). Transits impacting sleep:
Sleep usually comes under the domain on Neptune, the 12th house, and Pisces. You tend to have a hard time sleeping when you have a hard aspect - conjunction, square, or opposition - by the Moon, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto to the 12th house cusp, 12th house ruler, or natal Neptune.
With the Moon it usually needs to be a hard aspect that goes exact during the period you’ll be sleeping (because Moon aspects only last about 4 hours, so if it’s during the time you should be awake, it won’t impact your ability to sleep). Hard Moon aspects usually show some sort of emotional reason for not being able to sleep, perhaps being worried about something, or excited about something, or upset about something. You can also be more prone to nightmares with hard Moon aspects during the period you’re sleeping. Hard Mars can bring too much energy for you to sleep, and you can feel like you’re going nonstop and have a hard time unwinding. When you see a hard Mars aspect (and actually, with hard Mars, this can apply to your Sun, Moon, or Mercury as well, if they don’t rule the 12th house), you usually need to be physically active so you can use up the energy and exhaust yourself physically. Hard Saturn aspects can just wipe away sleep completely, and you try to get sleep, but just toss and turn, yet you feel exhausted. Saturn is the punisher if you’re not doing things the right way, so often, if you create a good sleep routine and stick to it, you can get your sleep back. That means practicing good sleep habits and keeping up with them. Hard Uranus aspects can make sleep come-and-go. You can sleep some nights and not get a wink other nights. This one’s a little harder to manage, and you need to just take advantage of the times you do get sleep and get as much rest as you can so you don’t burnout at the worst moments. You can also have wacky dreams with hard Uranus - just get used to those and maybe invest in a dream dictionary! Hard Pluto aspects can be the worst because they last for up to 3 years, and are notorious for bringing bouts of insomnia (and this can also apply to hard Pluto to your natal Sun, Moon, or Mercury). Pluto always wants deep changes, but they may run deeper than just simple changing of sleeping habits, and it’s likely that whatever is causing the insomnia is actually tied to a deep emotional issue that needs to be worked on, or stress that’s from some part of your life that’s impacting your ability to sleep. Hard Neptune aspects can also impact your sleep, and they can be hard aspects to any of your natal planets, though the biggest impact will be on your natal Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, or ruler of the 1st house. You may find that you’re constantly exhausted and lethargic, but when you try to sleep, you just can’t, or you have bad dreams. Your dreams can become much more lucid with all Neptune aspects since your subconscious mind is trying to come out to play, so try paying more attention to your dreams and see what possible messages they may have for you that you need to listen to. This can help to mitigate the bad sleep. Good periods for sleep can come with sextiles and trines to your 12th house cusp, ruler, or Neptune; the Sun, Moon, Venus, or Jupiter in the 12th house; or positive aspects by Neptune to your chart. Suggested Reading: Astrology of Laziness Jupiter enters a new sign, air sign Libra, on September 9th 2016 at 7:18AM ET. Jupiter has spent the last year in earth sign Virgo, sign of work, daily life, and health, and we go from a focus on the mundane and what needs to be done to a focus on relationships, connection, and commitment. Libra is the sign of relationships and commitment, so we can see more people coming together during Jupiter’s time in Libra, and more people taking the next step in relationships. There can be more emphasis on love and marriage, and we can benefit more from partnerships. Libra governs partnerships in general, not just marriage and romantic relationships, so we can see more partnering up occurring between people, corporations, or governments. Coming together can benefit us, and it can help us keep the peace, another thing Libra rules. We want peace, harmony, compromise, and for everyone to get along, and the world can be better when we strive for it. Libra is ruler of equality, fairness, and justice, so this can become something we strive for even more. Issues related to race, gender, and sexuality can be brought forth as we try to work on what blocks us from being truly open. We can open ourselves up to understanding, and try to be more willing to see the other side. Libra is represented by the scales, so we can weigh the pros and cons more, and try to give time and attention to every outcome, every opinion, every side to the story. At the same time, we may be more indecisive than usual because of this. The last time Jupiter was in Libra was September 2004 - October 2005, so try to remember what occurred in your life during that period to get a sense of what may come now for you personally. Unfortunately, there is some great difficulty with Jupiter in Libra - a cardinal t-square! We go from having a mutable t-square while Jupiter was in Virgo to now having a cardinal t-square with Jupiter in Libra. A t-square occurs when at least two planets oppose one another and both square (3 signs away) a third planet, forming what looks like a T. T-squares occur in signs of the same quality, and this new t-square will be in cardinal signs - Jupiter in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries with both square Pluto in Capricorn. We had a cardinal t-square with these 3 planets in 2013 - 2014, and this seemed to help contribute to the rise of ISIS and terror activity. This is because cardinal signs are the active signs, the first signs of their elements, and they take action. The difference then was Jupiter was in Cancer, so Uranus in Aries was the squared planet (the squared planet gets all of the energy funneled to it), which greatly increased the hot energy, and Libra was the missing sign, the sign of peace (the missing sign is what we’re missing and need). This time, Pluto in Capricorn will be the squared planet, and Cancer will be the missing sign. Pluto in Capricorn has impacted a lot of the changes in government and countries since Pluto entered Capricorn, so we’ll likely see more changes in governments, and governments and leaders falling around the world, more nationalism, and the anti-establishment sentiment will likely continue as well as people continue to rage against the machine. With Cancer missing, this is the sign of emotion, of home and family, of internal foundations, and of country, so we may be missing emotional and familial connections, and focus more on the external and not enough on the internal. We need to remember that we’re all one big human family, and the Earth is our collective home. Energy was supercharged last time though because the t-square was exact at times between Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto. That won’t be the case this time since Uranus and Pluto won’t exactly square one another. Jupiter exactly squares Pluto November 24th 2016, March 30th 2017 in retrograde, and August 4th 2017, and exactly opposes Uranus December 26th 2016, March 2nd 2017 in retrograde, and September 28th 2017, so these dates may be when the cardinal energy is strongest. While Jupiter has been in Virgo with a mutable t-square, we’ve also occasionally had a cardinal t-square at the same time, and when Jupiter enters Libra, we’ll also have a mutable t-square going on with Mercury retrograde (appearing to move backward) in Virgo, the sign Jupiter leaves, and the Sun in Virgo. The start of Jupiter in Libra may kick off with a bang because of this (to early October). Every time we’ve had this overlap of energy with a cardinal t-square and a mutable t-square, we’ve seen some big attacks in the world. Mutable energy is also active, like cardinal energy, but cardinal energy tends to have a focus and is directed, while mutable energy tends to be scattered and unfocused. So having them team up usually isn’t a good thing, and we’ll need to be extra careful during these periods. There will be another overlap with a mutable t-square April 21st - June 21st 2017 as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars tour Gemini, and another July 25th to the end of Jupiter in Libra (October 10th 9:20AM ET), with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars touring Virgo. Keep an eye on these periods. Meanwhile, a grand cross will occur June 4th - August 26th 2017. A grand cross is like a t-square, except there is no missing sign, a fourth planet occupies it. With Cancer being the missing cardinal sign, the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars will tour Cancer during that time frame, forming a cardinal grand cross. Grand crosses actually tend to be more stable than t-squares since there’s nothing missing, but we need to direct the energy positively, otherwise we can get super frustrated. On top of all of this, the ruler of Libra, Venus, will retrograde while Jupiter is in Libra, March 4th - April 15th 2017. We can feel super off during this time, and have a hard time with expansion, exploration, and optimism. We may be extra lazy and tactless, and need to be more considerate. Jupiter will retrograde starting February 6th 2017, and will begin that retrograde sextile (positive aspect, two signs away) transit Saturn in Sagittarius. The two are actually sextile one another starting December 2016 in orb through the turn retrograde in February, but are never exactly sextile one another. This can be a stabilizing period though, and we can be more responsible and calm. Jupiter is retrograde in Libra to June 9th 2017, and ends at 13 degrees Libra, which is a critical degree, a point of critical energy. That is in the middle of the double t-square/grand cross energy, so things may be on edge mid-2017. SO the planets aren’t playing very nicely while Jupiter is in Libra, and we still have more wild energy to manage over the next year. Remember, we need an emotional connection, to come together as one family, and see this is all our home. Stop focusing outside and look within. Come together and work for peace and equality. Be fair, be just, understand both sides. Or hide under a rock!
