2020 comes with a Capricorn stellium, with Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto touring the earth sign, Capricorn. Saturn and Pluto already conjuncted in January 2020. Now it's time for Jupiter and Pluto to conjunct!
Jupiter in Astrology
The core energy for Jupiter is expansive. Jupiter expands everything it touches. Jupiter wants to be positive, so this planet does try to make what it expands good. Sometimes, it does expand on the bad though! The difference with Jupiter is if you put in the effort, you can turn the bad around much more easily than with other planets. This makes Jupiter a planet of opportunity, even under hard aspects.
Pluto in Astrology
The core energy for Pluto is transforming. Pluto wants everything to have depth, to be serious and focused, and to get to the heart of any matter. It wants to understand fully, find solutions, and create something new that will last forever. Pluto can be unrelenting and vicious, but it's always for a purpose. Pluto wants us to improve, evolve, grow, and transform, to be the phoenix rising from the ashes, and to have incredible strength of will.
Jupiter Conjunct Pluto Astrology
In the natal chart, Jupiter conjunct Pluto shows you're someone who is strong and focused, but in a way that is easier to manage than when Pluto is conjunct other planets. You can have great instincts, you can know exactly how to maneuver through challenges, and you're someone who likely doesn't wallow in defeat. You can see opportunity everywhere, and have the confidence to actually do something with it instead of letting it pass you by.
In aspect to your natal chart, transit Jupiter conjunct your natal Pluto can be a time of transforming, problem solving, and being serious about something, and you can find more personal power and take more control in your life. Transit Pluto conjunct your natal Jupiter can be a time where you become much more invested in your beliefs, make transformations that open up opportunities and allow you to expand, and you can grow through your experiences in life.
In transit, Jupiter conjunct Pluto makes us crave expansion, growth, and we strive to be better, do better, achieve, and succeed. We can focus on what needs to be done and do it, even if it's a challenge, but we do have to make sure we're not being ruthless about it. As long as we remain considerate, we can make big things happen, and push it through from a combination of sheer will and a little luck. We may identify much more strongly with our beliefs under this aspect, and they can serve to inspire us to take action (for better or worse). We can strive to take power on a personal level with areas where we may have lacked power in recent years; on a worldwide level, we may see some major geopolitical events (I totally recommend checking out this article by Jessica Adams for that).
Jupiter-Pluto Conjunction of 2020
The conjunction between Jupiter and Pluto goes exact 3 times in 2020: April 4th at 24 degrees Capricorn, June 30th at 24 degrees Capricorn, and November 12th at 22 degrees Capricorn. Aspects for you will likely be felt between 20 and 26 degrees of:
Capricorn - conjunction
Virgo, Taurus - trine (positive)
Scorpio, Pisces - sextile (positive)
Aries, Libra - square (challenging)
Cancer - opposition (challenging)
If you've got a Capricorn point being hit, that point will be getting some of the biggest astrology it'll ever get, so definitely make the most of it! It may also have been hit by Saturn (you may want to check out the article on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction), so it's full-on focus for that point. Anything in Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio, or Pisces is getting hit by a beneficial aspect, and this can be an incredible period of opportunity for that point, and one where you can make a lot of progress and see things through.
Anything in Aries, Cancer, or Libra gets a hard aspect, and this can show you're in a period where you're being challenged in some way with whatever point is being hit. There may be opposition you have to work through and internal issues you have to face. A profound transformation is likely needed, and this can lead you down a whole new road.

The April full moon comes to us in Libra, while the April new moon comes in Taurus. A little air, and a little earth!
What is a new moon?
A new moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact same position in the Zodiac (called a conjunction). New moons are related to beginnings, have high energy, and are enthusiastic.
What is a full moon?
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are in the exact opposite positions in the Zodiac (called an opposition). Full moons are related to endings, culminations, and are emotional energy.
Full Moon in Libra: April 7th 2020 (10:36PM ET)
The Libra full moon is a time when we want to focus on keeping the peace and surrounding ourselves with harmony. When everything is chaotic, we become unraveled, lack confidence, and are indecisive. Some peace and harmony helps keep us centered and grounded with a Libra full moon, so we can work on compromising, finding middle ground, and getting everyone on the same page. We just need to make sure we're not sacrificing who we are in order to keep the peace.
Libra is a diplomatic sign, and knows how to turn up the charm and talk people into that middle ground. This may be a time when we very much need that diplomacy, and for everyone to get on the same page. No need to fight, no need to jump to conclusions, no need to start drama.
Libra desires balance, so we can focus on areas that we've neglected lately, and work on trying to restore balance that may be lacking. The more out of balance we can feel, the more emotional we can be and the harder it can be to manage challenges. Libra likes the middle!
Libra is the sign of relationships, ruling the people in our lives, so some may grow closer and become more committed to their relationships, while others may feel strained and tested. It can be a good time to work on relationship issues to make improvements (especially ahead of the upcoming Venus retrograde!). Make your connections and healthy and positive for both of you as possible.
The full moon occurs at 18 degrees 44 minutes Libra. The aspects this full moon makes are:
Conjunction: 16 degrees 44 minutes - 20 degrees 44 minutes Libra
Sextile: 16 degrees 44 minutes - 20 degrees 44 minutes Leo or Sagittarius
Square: 16 degrees 44 minutes - 20 degrees 44 minutes Cancer or Capricorn
Trine: 16 degrees 44 minutes - 20 degrees 44 minutes Gemini or Aquarius
Opposition: 16 degrees 44 minutes - 20 degrees 44 minutes Aries
New Moon in Taurus: April 22nd 2020 (10:26PM ET)
A Taurus new moon is an excellent time to work on being better grounded, and not getting too caught up in the rush and fuss. Slow things down, and ground yourself to the Earth, to reality, to the here and now. We can be more present, more in the moment, and this can help us find appreciation for what we already have and are capable of.
Taurus governs our finances and money, so this may be a good new moon for improving your financial situation, and working to make more in other ways. We may feel like the more we have, the more confident we are, but we should be careful not to tie money and things to our confidence. That just sets us up to feel bad.
Confidence can be higher with this new moon, especially after the Libra full moon (where confidence can be a little dicey). The more you let things roll in their own time and way, the more confident you can feel. Don't push, just let it be!
Taurus governs our values, so we can work on trying to live according to the values we have. This helps us feel more authentic, and if our values don't jive with who we are anymore, we can focus on new ones that do.
This new moon is square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) Saturn freshly in Aquarius and widely conjunct (aligned with) Uranus in Taurus (about 3 degrees). Uranus is change, the unconventional and different, while Saturn is the traditional and norms. This new moon may come with some challenging energy to making those two opposing energies work with one another, and we may feel like responsibilities and the practical holds us back from the changes we want and makes us more impulsive and rebellious, which just puts us in an even worse position. Be smarter with changes, and stay in control so you don't give in to impulse.
The new moon occurs at 3 degrees 24 minutes Taurus. The aspects this new moon makes are:
Conjunction: 1 degree 24 minutes - 5 degrees 24 minutes Taurus
Sextile: 1 degree 24 minutes - 5 degrees 24 minutes Cancer or Pisces
Square: 1 degree 24 minutes - 5 degrees 24 minutes Leo or Aquarius
Trine: 1 degree 24 minutes - 5 degrees 24 minutes Virgo or Capricorn
Opposition: 1 degree 24 minutes - 5 degrees 24 minutes Scorpio

Whenever you're assessing any king of astrology chart, there are some positions that can be important for you to consider. Let's cover progressed charts!
What is a progressed chart?
A progressed chart adds one day to your date of birth for every year you've been alive to create a new chart that reflects your maturation and growth. We all change with age, and this is shown through the progressed chart. It can also be used in predictive analysis, and you can use the progressed chart to make predictions and pinpoint timing.
What should you pay attention to in a progressed chart?
The first thing you'll want to pay attention to with the progressed chart is any planets or houses moving into new signs. This signifies a shift in whatever that planet or house rules, and there can be a shift in your life as a result.
Next, you'll want to assess any progressed planet or house cusps that are anaretic, which is 29 degrees of any sign. This means they're gearing up to move into new signs, and 29 degrees in the progressed chart is potent energy that drives you to take action before the point moves into a new sign.
You'll also want to focus on any planets turning retrograde or direct. This can signal an important period in your life where major developments will occur, and you can experience many changes in your life or as a person.
And then you'll want to also see when progressed planets move into new natal or progressed houses, natal planets move into new progressed houses, or any parts of your progressed chart aspects your natal chart.
Which positions are important in a progressed chart?
In general, your progressed Sun, Moon, and Rising are important, just like in your natal chart, and your progressed Sun can reflect who you're growing into overall, your progressed Moon can show your emotional maturation and focus, and your progressed Rising can show how your outer self evolves. When the Sun and Rising change signs or are anaretic, this can be significant in terms of impacting your personality. The progressed Moon moves quickly (spending about 2 1/2 years in one sign), so the changing signs of the progressed Moon can reflect your emotional focus during this period.
The progressed personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) can show how you shift in personal ways. When they're anaretic or in new signs, this can be felt deeply and personally.
If Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto are anaretic or change signs in the progressed chart, this can be quite significant, and show a period where there is major change, upheaval, developments, growth. They move much slower than the personal planets, so most people don't experience them anaretic or moving into new signs, which makes it significant when they do.
The progressed angles (Ascendant, Imum Coeli, Descendant, Midheaven) can show how the pillars of your life shift over time, with the progressed Ascendant-Descendant reflecting how you connect evolving, and the progressed Imum Coeli-Midheaven reflecting how the foundation of your life evolves.

Saturn is moving into a new sign on March 21st, air sign Aquarius! Saturn has been in its home sign of Capricorn, and has been a part of the dominant Capricorn stellium for 2020. With Saturn making a move to Aquarius, it's time to look forward. So what's the impact of Saturn in Aquarius? Read on!

How Saturn in Aquarius 2020-2023 Impacts You
Saturn in Aquarius takes our focus from the traditional and practical to the unconventional and different. Aquarius likes things to be different, unique in some way, marching to the beat of its own drummer. This is a sign that doesn't like to be boxed in! With Saturn in Aquarius, we may have to address issues that have done just that, boxed us in and kept us from expressing our uniqueness. We're all individuals, and Aquarius wants us to embrace that. While Saturn is in Aquarius, we may be challenged to face old ideas, social norms, and the status quo. If it hasn't been serving us well, then why are we hanging on to it?
Aquarius is ruler of the future, always looking way forward, and this can give Aquarius an objective outlook. Saturn in Aquarius wants us to look toward the future and see how everything fits together as a whole. We can become more concerned about how every piece impacts the next and the next, and take a bigger view of the world and life. There's more than just the here and now. There's infinity!
Aquarius also rules our hopes and dreams. As we're looking toward the future, we're thinking about what we hope to achieve and experience and have, and what we dream it'll look like and feel like. Saturn in Aquarius wants us to get serious about those dreams, to come up with plans to make them reality, so they actually are by the time Saturn leaves Aquarius. This doesn't necessarily mean giving up on dreams that are seen as "unrealistic" - sometimes that does happen with Saturn, but it's really more about doing your homework, making smart choices, being responsible, making plans, and sticking to them.
This sign is the sign of change, so we may see some major changes happening around the world and in our lives. For some, they may be quick and unexpected, but with Saturn, it's more likely the changes are ones we're working for, planning for, and striving for. They're changes not just for the moment, but for many years to come.
Friends and groups are ruled by Aquarius, and some friendships can grow stronger and new friendships can last longer, while others can fade away. Some groups may grow in major prominence, gaining incredible power, while others are torn down and ripped apart. We may struggle at times with coming together and connecting, and need to find our common links. We're seeing some exact interpreting happening with Saturn in Aquarius as we start this transit with social distancing - restricting (Saturn) groups of people (Aquarius) from coming together (sometimes astrology is so-oh literal!).
Aquarius also governs charity, wanting us to be more concerned with something outside of ourselves. We can use the energy to become more involved in causes, to work to help mankind, and to take care of the environment. Saturn in Aquarius can make some environmental issues much worse (since let's face it, we've totally ignored and taken advantage of Mother Earth!). Uranus, natural ruler of Aquarius, is in earth sign Taurus as well, so yeah, let's get serious about this, pronto!
How Saturn in Aquarius Differs From Saturn in Capricorn
Saturn in Capricorn puts Saturn in the sign it naturally rules. Capricorn and Saturn are traditional, hard-working, and practical. Aquarius is totally counter to that! Aquarius is unconventional, different, eccentric, weird. This sign throws out the rule book! Though we shouldn't necessarily do that (Saturn is involved after all). But we should question the rules that we've been living by and get clear about whether or not they're actually doing us some good.
Saturn in Aquarius also ends the Capricorn stellium, and this can pull back some of the really strong, unrelenting, overwhelming at times, energy we've got cooking. Aquarius is a lot lighter as an air sign, which can help us elevate a little.
Special Periods During Saturn in Aquarius
Saturn is in Aquarius until July 1st, and goes back to Capricorn for a few months. When Saturn re-enters Aquarius December 17th 2020, Jupiter also enters Aquarius 2 days later! They're both in Capricorn in 2020, but don't actually conjunct in Capricorn, instead conjuncting early in Aquarius on December 21st (at 0 degrees). This can bring a huge surge in focus on the future, our dreams, what we hope for, and how we come together. All eyes are on the future! It's likely going to change in a very big way.
Mercury retrogrades January 30th - February 20th 2021 in Aquarius (but doesn't conjunct Saturn) and January 14th - 25th 2022 in Aquarius (which starts conjunct Saturn). These are the only retrogrades in Aquarius while Saturn is in Aquarius, so it's not too bad. We may feel extra overwhelmed, have sudden responsibilities, and crave more space to be ourselves completely. The 2022 retrograde may feel strongest, and we have to do things right but still leave room for change.
Aside of the early conjunction to Jupiter, Saturn in Aquarius only makes one other major aspect, a square (hard aspect, 3 signs away) to Uranus in Taurus on February 17th, June 14th, and December 24th 2021 (so felt pretty much all of 2021). This might bring some challenges in 2021 with adjusting to changes, with making changes properly and responsibly, and with managing the traditional with the unconventional. We need to acknowledge both and recognize there is a place for both instead of forsaking one for the other. Make practical changes, be unconventional with your goals!
Saturn in Aquarius Conjunct the Outer Planets in Your Natal Chart
Generation Z largely has Uranus at home in Aquarius as their defining astrological position, and Saturn in Aquarius comes to conjunct Uranus. This may bring Zers more into the spotlight, and they may take on a more major role in some way. Saturn conjunct Uranus makes you get real about your dreams and future, and take actual steps to make them happen. Now is the time, now is the time.
Many Zers also have Neptune in Aquarius as well, and Saturn conjunct Neptune demands you make your fantasies reality. Z seems to be hit the most by Saturn in Aquarius, and the challenge is about merging dreams and fantasy with reality. How can you make the intangible tangible?
Final Notes on Saturn in Aquarius
So Saturn in Aquarius doesn't seem as heavy as Saturn in Capricorn, which may be a relief! But we do have to get serious about the future, and it seems like what comes to pass with the Capricorn stellium is what prompts us to look forward further.
Also, right after Saturn leaves Aquarius, Pluto enters Aquarius! Saturn leaves Aquarius March 7th 2023 and Pluto starts moving into Aquarius March 23rd 2023 (that's sure to be a big month!). So we can use Saturn in Aquarius to lay the groundwork for when Pluto is in Aquarius, setting us up for many, many years to come.
