Pluto is about to turn direct on October 11th, and end its retrograde period. Pluto will be moving through the end of Capricorn until November 19th, when it shoves off into Aquarius to stay for twenty years. But we've gotta get through this Pluto direct first!
What is Pluto Direct?
A body in astrology is called retrograde when it appears to be moving backward through the Zodiac. When they're no longer appearing to be moving backward and instead appear to go forward again, this is called turning direct.
Pluto retrogrades for about half of every year, and is actually considered one of the more beneficial retrogrades. Retrogrades usually throw things off as the body operates in the opposite way it normally does; with Pluto being the intense and passionate planet of transformation, this is actually welcome, and Pluto retrograde gives us a chance to slow down on the massive transforming and adjust to what's come to pass. With that coming to an end, the intense transformations begin to return, and while it usually takes some time to kick back in, that may not be the case this time because Pluto is at the end of Capricorn and only has another month left in this sign. This means the transformations that remain undone with Pluto in Capricorn get sped up, activated, and shoved - fast! The window is closing, and we're running out of time, so Pluto wants us to take action while we still have the chance. Pluto Direct is Anaretic
In astrology, there are 30 degrees in every Zodiac sign, 360 degrees in the entire Zodiac. 29 degrees is the last degree of any Zodiac sign, and is called the anaretic degree. This is supercharged energy, and tends to be quite intense, and often chaotic, in transit like this.
Pluto re-entered Capricorn in retrograde on September 1st, and has been anaretic in Capricorn ever since. It'll remain anaretic in Capricorn until it exits in November, so it's been continuous, and remains so. But, it's likely to be most intense at the Pluto direct. When planets or bodies in astrology turn retrograde or direct, they slow way down so they're essentially hovering in about the same location. This is called stationing, and it amplifies the energy. With Pluto stationing direct at the anaretic degree in Capricorn, this is incredibly intense, unrelenting energy that we're dealing with. It's likely to be challenged into Capricorn things, so our goals and direction. We can also see this play out in the world with major developments with governments, institutions, and leaders since they're all ruled by Capricorn. In your own life, look to where 29 degrees Capricorn falls in your natal houses. This is where it gets funneled for you personally. What areas of life does the house rule? That's where you may find you have more intense energy with goals related to the house and the direction you're taking with it. Neptune and Mercury Touch Pluto Direct
Neptune in Pisces is sextile, which is a beneficial aspect, Pluto direct. This helps us use intuition and imagination with the transformations we're embarking on, and we can get help or work on our own.
We may want to tackle issues from the past, subconscious issues, or work on releasing, but this can be a positive thing and doesn't disrupt much. Mercury in Libra is square Pluto direct, which is a challenging aspect. Mercury is the planet of the mind and communication, so we may have a hard time seeing eye-to-eye with what we need to work on, we might struggle with getting information we need, and we might be prone to fighting. Our focus can be too intense, and we get wrapped up in whatever we're thinking about, obsessive, and can;t let it go. Conversely, our focus might be lacking too much, and we don't want to face what we need to. We likely need to work on getting to the heart of the problem. What it seems to be on the surface, likely won't be the actual problem. If we can get to the core, we work on solving. This also helps us channel the mental energy in a more productive way.
