Astrology has something called elements, and each Zodiac sign is assigned to one of the elements. There are 4 elements in astrology, and each has 3 Zodiac signs. They are: Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces Astrology also has 10 planets, including the Sun and Moon and excluding the Earth. The Moon is one of the most important of the planets because it governs emotions, and our natal Moon sign shows how we express our emotions, and what we need for emotional stability and security. The fire sign Moons - Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius Moons - are the Moon signs that take action. Fire is the active element, and is full of energy and enthusiasm. Aries Moons jump first and ask questions later; Leo Moons rush with glee and creativity; and Sagittarius Moons are the adventurers. But what does it mean when someone is a fire sign Moon, but they're not active? They don't seem to be very active, or positive, or enthusiastic. They may be quiet, or stoic, or practical. What astrology shows a person with a fire sign Moon doesn't act like a fire sign Moon? The 12th House of the Hidden
There are 12 houses in astrology, and each has different energy. The twelfth house is the house of the hidden, and it hides the energy of any planet or body that resides there. With the Moon, this means it hides the energy of the Moon sign, so if a fire sign Moon has their Moon in the 12th house, they may seem quiet, shy, and unexpressive with their emotions.
A fire sign Moon in the 12th house does have a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and takes action though - it's just that this only happens when they're alone, or when they're with someone they know well and trust, or when they're operating subconsciously. A fire sign Moon is excellent with gut instincts, and when they operate subconsciously, they take action fast. That seems like luck because they just know what will work. It's when they have to think about it that their energy is tamped down. Moon Conjunctions
If the person's fire sign Moon is conjunct, or aligned with, another planet, they may predominantly express their emotional Moon via that planet instead of the sign their Moon is in. The natural rulers of the fire signs are the Sun (Leo), Mars (Aries), and Jupiter (Sagittarius), so conjunct any of these three amplifies the fire sign Moon. But if it's another planet, it can tamp it down significantly.
This is especially true when the natal fire sign Moon is conjunct Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, or Chiron. Saturn is restrictive, so a conjunction to Saturn tamps down the energy of the fire element the most. Uranus can make it more erratic, and Neptune can bring more water to the mix, putting out some of the fire. Pluto can make it more intense and Scorpio-like, and Chiron can be too wounding, squashing the enthusiasm of the fire element. Venus or Ceres conjunct a fire element Moon can make it more practical and grounded, so it can still have enthusiasm and energy, but in a quieter way. Mercury is neutral energy, and the fiery nature of the fire sign Moon might come out more in communication. Abundance of Other Elements
If someone with a fire sign Moon has an abundance of another element in their planets, so say 5 planets in one of the other elements, that element can be more dominant in their personality, and this can tamp down their fire sign Moon.
An abundance of earth planets grounds the fiery energy and makes them seem more practical. an abundance of air planets focuses more mental and makes them more intellectual; and an abundance of water planets amplifies emotions and makes them more sensitive and intuitive.
