We use something called elements in astrology, and the elements are a way to categorize the Zodiac signs. Every Zodiac sign is assigned to one of the 4 elements, and each element has 3 Zodiac signs. They are: Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces Astrology also has 10 planets, including the Sun and Moon and excluding the Earth. How we express our emotions, and what we need for emotional stability and security is shown via our natal Moon sign, which is the Zodiac sign the Moon was in at the moment we were born. The air sign Moons - Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius Moons - are the Moon signs that are social and engaging. These are the signs of the mind, and air signs flow like the wind. They're able to connect, in communication with Gemini Moons, one-on-one with Libra Moons, and with acquaintances and friends with Aquarius Moons. But what does it mean when someone is an air sign Moon, but they're not social? They don't care to be around people very much, don't seem comfortable in social situations, and may be stoic, fiery, or sensitive. What astrology shows a person with an air sign Moon doesn't act like an air sign Moon? The 12th House of the Hidden
There are 12 houses in astrology, and each has different energy. The twelfth house is the house of the hidden, and it hides the energy of any planet or body that resides there. With the Moon, this means it hides the energy of the Moon sign, so if an air sign Moon has their Moon in the 12th house, they may have difficulty expressing themselves emotionally.
An air sign Moon in the 12th house does have a great ability to engage, but isn't comfortable whatsoever in social situations, around new people, and with those they don't know well. This can make them seem shy, but when they're with someone they know well and it's just them, they can be super engaging, expressive, and fun. An air sign Moon in this house is usually a water sign Rising, so they may seem more focused on emotions. But they actually have great intellectual power, a lot of curiosity, and can make use of their mental skills. They're not lost in their emotions, and do consider logic and reason. Moon Conjunctions
If the person's air sign Moon is conjunct, or aligned with, another planet, they may predominantly express their emotional Moon via that planet instead of the sign their Moon is in. The natural rulers of the air signs are Mercury (Gemini), Venus (Libra) and Uranus (Aquarius), so conjunct any of these three amplifies the air sign Moon. But if it's another planet, it may alter the energy quite a bit.
This is especially true when the natal air sign Moon is conjunct Mars, Saturn, Pluto, or Chiron. Mars is the planet of energy and drive, so a conjunction to Mars makes them more fiery, like an Aries Moon instead. Saturn is the planet of restriction and limitation, so this really impacts the way the air sign Moon expresses itself, and makes it much quieter and shier. Pluto is the intense planet, so it makes the air sign Moon much moodier, deeper, and passionate. Chiron rules wounds and healing, and can make the air sign Moon more sensitive. Ceres conjunct an air sign Moon can ground it more, while the Sun conjunct an air sign Moon can make it more dynamic. Neptune conjunct an air sign Moon might make it difficult to get a hold on the airy energy, though it can get a bit lost in it and be more wandering. Abundance of Other Elements
If someone with an air sign Moon has an abundance of another element in their planets, so say 5 planets in one of the other elements, that element can be more dominant in their personality, and this can tamp down their air sign Moon.
An abundance of fire planets bring more activity to the air sign energy, and makes them more physically active and make use of creativity; an abundance of earth sign planets makes the air energy more practical and focused; and an abundance of water planets brings out more emotion and empathy.
