February 2015 Full & New Moons: Full Moon in Leo & New Moon in Aquarius
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism. For information on how the new/full moons may impact your sign, read the monthly horoscope. February 3rd 2015 Full Moon in Leo A full moon occurs at 6:09PM ET at 14 degrees 48 minutes of Leo. In Leo, we’re a little dramatic when we’re showing how we feel. We don’t care if we’re making a scene, and like the attention we can get from some emotional outburst. We crave attention, need it like air, and want to be praised for the things we’ve done. We can hear news of an ending or culmination of something for royalty or the entertainment industry. Love is put to the test, and we decide if it’s real and here to stay, or if it’s not and we need to walk away. This full moon trines (positive aspect) transit (moving) Uranus in Aries, and we want to break out of the mold and do things differently with this full moon. Change makes us feel a little bit better, and we don’t think too much about it. If you're a Leo Sun, Moon, or mid-Leo rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most. February 18th 2015 New Moon in Aquarius A new moon occurs at 6:47PM ET at 29 degrees 59 minutes of Aquarius. This is the second consecutive new moon in Aquarius, and at 29 degrees, it’s at the Anaretic degree, a point of tremendous energy. Mercury retrograde has just come to an end in Aquarius, so we could see something leftover from the retrograde that now comes to a breaking point or is finally resolved with this new moon. It could deal with an uprising or rebellion, technology, or something planned for the future. We’re more concerned about the future, optimistic but worried, and want to push things through this very second, but we push a little too hard. We’re either too into what’s different and unique that we shun tradition and it gets us in trouble, or we’re too into tradition and shun anything unconventional and it gets us into trouble. We need to be our true selves, accept there’s a place for both traditional and unconventional methods, and accept that we all live in different ways. If you're an Aquarius Sun, Moon, or late Aquarius rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most. Comments are closed.
