I've been commenting on Twitter during the week about the Ray Rice scandal for the NFL and the astrological happenings for both Ray Rice and Roger Goodell. I thought I'd write them out as a blog post so it's all in one place for you, and add some more thoughts. Above are the noon charts for Rice (left) and Goodell (right). I started with Ray Rice. The video broke on Monday, the same day as the Pisces full moon, which prompted me to see what was going on in his chart with the full moon. It turns out the full moon on Monday squared his Venus and Saturn in Sagittarius, and his Chiron in Gemini. With Venus ruling love relationships, we all got to see just how badly he acted with his "love"; with Saturn ruling restrictions/limitations and punishment for irresponsibility and bad behavior, the Ravens got rid of him that day and he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL; and with Chiron ruling wounds, it exposed him hurting someone else (causing wounds) and being wounded by the situation. Full moons are culminations, and you reap what you sow. This was the ultimate full moon manifestation for Rice. Without his time of birth, we don't know the houses involved, but I wouldn't be surprised if his Venus or Saturn rule his 12th house or are in his 12th house, the house of endings and self undoing. In February, when this elevator incident happened, Uranus was square his Mars and quincunx Pluto. This trio shows the violence that erupted, and the unexpected way in which it was exposed. Currently, Pluto is square his Mars, with Pluto retrograde but ready to turn direct on September 22nd. When a planet is getting ready to turn retrograde or direct, the energy is strongest because it's hovering in the same place. This set the table for the video coming out and Rice losing his job. Makes me wonder if Mars rules his 6th house of work or 10th house or career? On Monday, when the video broke, Mercury opposed his Mars - bad news for him! Add to this Uranus, which is transiting his north node this year. This aspect usually brings you closer to the person you should be or the life you should have. It would seem the planets are exposing this for Rice now in an effort to force him to change. Whether or not he does is up to him. Rice's north node is in Aries and conjunct Mars, so he has to get control of his temper if he wants to make the most of his life. His Neptune is square, showing he has to work on his Neptunian issues to unlock his nodes. I then looked at Roger Goodell's chart on Wednesday, with all of the swirling speculation around him about who did/didn't see the video in the commissioner's office. The first thing that jumped out at me was that Goodell and Rice have almost exactly opposite nodes! The lunar nodes are karmic in nature, and it seems these two have a karmic link. With Goodell having an opposite node, this means that Uranus is transiting Goodell's south node instead of north node. This can bring about old problems as he's been playing up too much of his south node and not enough of his north node. With a Libra north node, Goodell should've tried to be more of a fair judge all along, instead of the iron fist he'd been known as, and then a little lamb with Rice. How fitting that people aren't seeing his punishment as "fair"! Goodell has a mutable grand cross in his chart, with his Gemini Mars, Virgo Pluto, Sagittarius Jupiter, and Mercury Pisces. His Sun could also be involved if he wasn't born super early in the day, as he's born on a cusp day, so he could be 29 degree Aquarius Sun or 0 degree Pisces Sun. Neptune is currently lighting up his mutable grand cross, conjunct his Mercury and square his Mars. Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion, unable to see things as they really are, and unable to be understood as you want to be. This completely fits what's gone on with Goodell, and how people feel like he isn't telling the truth, there's some murky waters here, it's been mismanaged, something is missing, but who is telling the truth? With Neptune, it's possible that Goodell thinks he's telling the truth even if he isn't. Add to this that, depending on what time Goodell was born at, his Moon could be opposed by Pluto right now. I feel like this probably is the case, because this can show opposition you can't control, and losing what you need to feel secure in life. It's even more prominent for him because his Moon is square his nodes, along with his Saturn. He needed to be more sensitive and less of a cold disciplinarian, but that hasn't been the case. Their nodes aren't done with them either. The lunar eclipse next month is going to fall on their nodes, conjunct Rice's north and Goodell's south. Uranus is conjunct the lunar eclipse this month, which is activating their nodes in a big way. On Wednesday, the Moon conjuncted Uranus - how fitting! Mercury opposes the eclipse this weekend, and Mars will square Goodell's Sun, so I wonder if something else will drop this weekend. But the biggest axe to fall may be with the Mercury retrograde next month, which will end October 25th opposite the lunar eclipse. Will that cost Roger Goodell his job? Or give Ray Rice his job back? When I sat down to write this post, I also wanted to take a look at Steve Bisciotti's chart, the owner of the Baltimore Ravens, who hasn't looked very good in this whole matter either, but who has looked better than Rice or Goodell in this matter. Like Goodell, he has the requisite harsh Neptune, conjunct his Mars and square his Pluto, so he hasn't understood the reality of the situation either, and just look at how badly the Ravens have handled this as well. But Neptune is also sextile his Jupiter, a positive aspect, which I think is what is saving him a little. I wrote on Twitter that if you have anything between 13-17 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, that point was getting lit up with Uranus, Mercury, and the eclipse. I anticipated seeing something in Bisciotti's chart there, but nothing was. But then I noticed that his Sun-Moon midpoint was in Cancer, so I pulled up his midpoints. If Bisciotti was born after 11AM, then his Sun-Moon is at 13-17 Cancer, getting squared by Uranus and the lunar eclipse and the Mercury direct. How much ya wanna bet he was born after 11AM? EDIT: Or more like addition, but it seems that perhaps the bad weekend for Roger Goodell could be tied to Adrian Peterson, who was just indicted on charges of reckless injury to a child (allegedly hitting his son with a tree branch). Taking a quick look at Peterson's chart, he has his Mercury in Aries at the crisis point with this Uranus/eclipse/Mercury retrograde. Mercury rules young people, so that fits with this. He also has Saturn crossing over his south node this month - more with those nodes! He's also got his Saturn return coming up in late October/early November. And Neptune is square his Chiron. His Chiron is conjunct Goodell's Mars. And that's nothing to say of Greg Hardy, who people are focusing on more with the 911 audio of his and the witness. He doesn't seem to have the same stuff going on as these other guys though, and I don't see a link with Goodell. Chiron is on his nodes now, and his Venus is square his nodes, so Hardy has some serious love/relationship issues, and those issues are being stimulated by Chiron on his nodes. The full moon on Monday fell on his north node, which brought it out into the spotlight. 9/14/14 edit: It's being reported tonight that Ray Rice is going to appeal his suspension. That could be it!
