A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism.
October 11th 2011 Full Moon in Aries
The full moon on the 11th is at 10:06PM ET and occurs at 18 degrees 24 minutes of Aries. Aries rules new beginnings, opportunities, growth. Basically the opposite of a full moon! So with a full moon in Aries, you're looking at the culmination or ending of things that lead the way for new growth, new opportunities, and a fresh start. With Aries, you'll have the energy and drive needed to finish what you've started so you can begin something else. This full moon opposes Saturn, so we all may feel a little more paranoid, insecure, or overburdened. Don't stress over things that don't exist. Don't take on too much responsibilities or let someone else dump theirs all over you. There may be problems with our elders and authority figures. If you're an Aries Sun or Moon between 16 and 20 degrees, or have an Aries rising in the second half of the sign, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most.
October 26th 2011 New Moon in Scorpio
The new moon on the 26th is at 3:55PM ET and occurs at 3 degrees 2 minutes of Scorpio. Scorpio is a serious fellow, and doesn't take anything lightly, so any new undertakings with this Moon will be dived into with serious minds. This is a good Moon to do research under, because you won't stop until you've gotten what you need, and you may still keep digging after that. We'll be more interested in Scorpio subjects, like psychology, forensics, the underworld, and death. This Moon is also best served for dealings with other people's money, like debts, loans, inheritances, and taxes, so if you need to settle something there, here's your Moon for it. Scorpio also rules transformations, so if you need to begin a new big change in your life, this Moon has the energy for it. Oh, and Scorpio rules sex too, so, um, have some fun ;) If you're a Scorpio Sun or Moon between 1 and 5 degrees, or a Scorpio rising, you'll feel the effects of this Moon most.
