May 2013 Full & New Moons: Solar Eclipse in Taurus & Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
A full moon occurs when the transit (moving) Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of endings, culminations, and things coming to fruition. A new moon occurs when when the transit Sun and Moon are in the exact same spot in the zodiac. It tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism. A solar eclipse is like a new moon, and a lunar eclipse is like a full moon.

May 9th 2013 Solar Eclipse in Taurus
A solar eclipse occurs at 8:28PM ET at 19 degrees 31 minutes of Taurus. In Taurus, we want to celebrate our senses. We connect through food, drink, art, music, sex. We're more calm and even, not wanting to go overboard with anything, preferring to be patient, take our time, and go slow but steady. We want to be financially sound, and go down a new financial path that leads to greater prosperity. This could be good for countries that are trying to create new budgets that deal with the new realities of the world we live in. Since Taurus is an Earth sign, we may be more focused on helping the Earth and being more environmentally conscious, and since this is an eclipse, it could be long-term. Perhaps we have new innovations or deals are made between nations to do something big. Eclipse effects can last for six months. If you're a Taurus Sun, Moon, or mid-Taurus rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most.
May 25th 2013 Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
A lunar eclipse occurs at 12:25AM ET at 4 degrees 7 minutes of Sagittarius. In Sagittarius, we fervently stick to our beliefs, convinced that our way is the best and right way, and want others to agree with us. We try to convince people of our position, and talk at people rather than with them. We need to take a step back and not take it so personally. There could be difficulty with travel, or some issue comes to an end with the travel industry. A writer could come under scrutiny, or some people could come under fire for what they're said or written. We could see an important legal issue being played out publicly. This lunar eclipse is also square (hard aspect) transit (moving) Neptune in Pisces, and we have a hard time differentiating between illusion and reality. We're more paranoid, delusional, and have escapist tendencies. This could be bad for water, pollution, or drugs, both legal and not. If you're a Sagittarius Sun, Moon, or rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.
