July 8th 2013 New Moon in Cancer
A new moon occurs at 3:14AM ET at 16 degrees 17 minutes of Cancer. In Cancer, we want to improve our homes and families. A spotlight is put on our homes and families, and how much work we need to put in to fix them. We're more traditional, and want to do things the way they've always been done. Anything new or unusual is avoided. We seek comfort and familiarity, and we try to nurture and support. This new moon is conjunct (right next to) transit (moving) Mercury in retrograde (appearing to move backward). Because of that, we could be focusing on old issues related to the home (both personal and country) and family, and try to do things that we've attempted in the past but weren't successful with it. If you're a Cancer Sun, Moon, or mid-Cancer rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most.
July 22nd 2013 Full Moon in Aquarius
A full moon occurs at 2:16PM ET at 0 degrees 5 minutes of Aquarius. In Aquarius, we can make progress with the causes we've dedicated ourselves to. All of the humanitarian work pays off. Conversely, we can see things fall apart, and we give up on wanting to help, believing it's a lost cause. Rebellion can lead to tumultuous endings, and unexpected events can throw us off. We're concerned about the future, and what's to come for us all. We need to not be afraid, and think outside of the box, embracing originality, eccentricity, and individualism. Two consecutive full moons are occurring in Aquarius, this full moon in July and the next full moon in August. This puts extra focus on Aquarius issues. If you're an Aquarius Sun, Moon, or rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.
