January 11th 2013 New Moon in Capricorn
A new moon occurs at 2:44PM ET at 21 degrees 23 minutes of Capricorn. In Capricorn, we're focused on success, and what we achieve as individuals, communities, countries, and societies. We celebrate our accomplishments, and work at having more of them. We look to our parents, bosses, mentors, and authority figures for advice and comfort. Since Capricorn rules politics and the government, we could get some good news from them. This isn't a very emotional moon, and we may be a little distant emotionally and not connect on an emotional level, but it's not disconcerting. We're just too busy trying to make things happen. Look at your own life and try to reach one goal, no matter how small or insignificant. Sometimes, that's all it takes to get the ball rolling. If you're a Capricorn Sun, Moon, or late Capricorn rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most.
January 26th 2013 Full Moon in Leo
A full moon occurs at 11:38PM ET at 7 degrees 24 minutes of Leo. In Leo, we're far more dramatic with the way we emotionally respond. It's like we've all stepped straight out of a movie. You may see a lot of people, especially children, having outbursts in public. We'll also feel more romantic, and love makes us feel better, though we may do crazy things for it. The arts inspire us, and move us, make us think and feel. This is actually a nice full moon with two good aspects: sextile (easy aspect) transit Jupiter in Gemini, making us feel good though indulgent, and trine (easy aspect) transit Uranus in Aries, making us want something different and go for the unexpected but not in a way that's too unsettling. If you're a Leo Sun, Moon, or rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.
