Today’s character post is about everyone’s favorite reindeer - Rudolph! Who can resist a little outcast who grows up to be so important for Santa? So what do I think about Rudolph astrologically?
SUN, MERCURY, & VENUS
I would pin Rudolph as a Pisces Sun, Mercury, and Venus. He’s so sweet, so innocent, shy, and easily bruised. I’d put this trio in his 12th house since he tries to keep his red nose from other people, hiding himself, and the 12th house is the house of hidden things. When you have 12th house planets, especially personal planets, it makes you feel a bit misunderstood as well, which he feels at first. I would also make his Mercury retrograde because of this, and because many who end up successful have Mercury retrograde. When the other reindeer couldn’t see, Rudolph stepped in because he could, which is an example of how during Mercury retrograde, the rest of us flounder, while someone born with Mercury retrograde thrives.
RISING & MARS
I’d make Rudolph an Aries rising and Mars, with Mars in the 1st house. He becomes a natural leader for the reindeer, and is at the head of the pack. Also, this speaks to Rudolph’s red nose - red is associated with the sign Aries and planet Mars (natural ruler of Aries), and Aries and Mars ruled the head and face, with the 1st house showing how you come across.
I would put Rudolph’s Moon in Aquarius and the 11th house. His friends are important for him, like Hermey, and he make lots of friends along the way, like at the Land of Misfit Toys. His odd collection of friends is very Aquarius, who is attracted to different types of people, and the 11th house rules friendships, so this is important for him emotionally.
