August 6th 2013 New Moon in Cancer
A new moon occurs at 5:51PM ET at 14 degrees 34 minutes of Leo. In Leo, we're theatrical and dramatic. The world is a stage, and we're the star. We're generous and warm, friendly and sweet. We want to laugh, enjoy ourselves, and do the things that we like most. Have a good time, and let out your inner child. Get in touch with your heart, and show affection for your loved ones. There's a lot of love to give and share. This new moon is trine (positive aspect) transit (moving) Uranus in Aries. We want to do things differently, going against the grain and social norms. We do things out of the blue, surprising everyone, even ourselves. We believe in freedom and independence, and let out our inner humanitarian. If you're a Leo Sun, Moon, or mid-Cancer rising, you may feels the effects of this moon most.
August 20th 2013 Full Moon in Aquarius
A full moon occurs at 9:45PM ET at 28 degrees 11 minutes of Aquarius. In Aquarius, the humanitarian work we do bears fruit, and we see how we're helping others. Conversely, we may see how we're hurting others and decide to stop, or we pay for not doing enough. We have a harder time dealing with the unexpected, and get thrown by anything that we're not prepared for. We want calm, but may not get it. We defend freedom and individuality, but it may lead to chaos. The future is uncertain, and as much as it frightens us, we need to stay resolute. It's the time for the unconventional to take over. This is the second consecutive full moon in Aquarius, putting emphasis on Aquarius issues, and forcing us to face them. If you're an Aquarius Sun, Moon, or late Aquarius rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most.
