Apollo was the son of Zeus, and the Greek god of music. In astrology, Apollo is where you can take something for granted, and ignore it to your detriment. When you focus on it, you can become a master. With linkages with other people's charts, the Apollo person in enthralled with the other. When it's conjunct something in your chart, you can have obsessive energy with that planet/point, imbalance, and a constant need for harmony.
Apollo is number 1862 on astro.com. My own Apollo is conjunct Mercury (so I take my mind for granted but shouldn't, and have an obsessive personality) and Deucalion (I shouldn't underestimate how much transformation is good for me but can go too far at times, becoming obsessed with change), opposes my Achilles (taking things for granted and being obsessive is very, very bad for me), and square Hermes (similiar to Mercury). It's in Libra and my 11th house - I expect to get my way with my friends (yeah I can be a little bossy . . . "Just a little?" her friends say with a smirk). The conjunction to Mercury is what makes my Apollo so important, and it's interesting that, ever since I was a little girl, I've always felt that my life was a constant battle for balance. The fact that this is in Libra, and I'm a Libra Sun, makes it even more important for me. When I was a younger, I went through a period where I was obsessed with getting a tattoo - didn't do it because I couldn't decide what to get, oh Libra vacillation - but one of the things I considered was the scales since I felt like it fit me well. Also, the conjunction to Deucalion is important because transforming has pretty much been constant for me. I have Scorpio rising with Pluto on the cusp, which governs transformations. I've wondered if my animal totem was a bat at times, relating to the themes of the bat, which is very Scorpio/Pluto (why bats, exactly? when I was a kid, I lived for a few years in this old Victorian house that had large trees next to it where fruit bats lived; 3 times, a bat got inside of the house, and every time, my bedroom - were they coming for me?). In transit, Apollo can show where you ignore something and take it for granted, are a bit blind. As I write this, Apollo is gearing up to turn retrograde in Virgo opposite my Moon - gotta be careful with those feelings of mine! To find where Apollo currently is located you can use astro.com (go to extended chart selection, then click on ephemeris, and type 1862 in the additional asteroids and other objects section). So what is Apollo doing for you? Comments are closed.
